16gb or 32gb Nexus 7 FHD

I know this is a pretty subjective question - and more storage is always better. But that being said - with those who have enjoyed their previous version of the Nexus 7 - Is 16gb "enough" or would most just opt to get the 32gb.

I'm heavily leaning towards 32gb - esp since it's not expandable. I have a 16gb phone (but a 32gb SD card in there) - it's been great for photos and video and moving apps to the SD. I don't think I'd be doing as much photo/video taking on the Nexus 7. But even Apps can fill that space quickly, right?

So - thoughts?

If you don't do cloud stuff, 32GB is probably a wise choice. And is a necessity if you plan on keeping movies on the tab.

I have a 16GB 2012 N7 and wished I had 32GB. The OTG cable is great for off-line storage but having available internally is a lot more convenient.

I was going to get the 16gb Nexus 7 FHD but after I asked the salesperson (Best Buy which for once a real person that knew what he was talking about) if they had the 32gb and he said they jusy got a shipment of them in.. so after a few seconds of pondering I told him sold on the 32gb.

Yes a little more than i wanted to pay BUT the price difference between the 16 and 32gb is really bang for you buck. Cloud is nice but without internet connection cloud dose not mean crap if you can not access it.

I did download Transformers Dark of the Moon (was free when I bought my Nexus 4) on my N7 FHD and it is 3.3gb (people at work was amazed at how crisp and smooth it was on my N7). So if your getting HD movies and put them on the tablet then 32gb is the way to go.

But see even the 16gb would be almost all profit margin.... It probably costs Google less than like $20 to make the whole tablet in the first place. But looking at it from a consumers point of view you get double the amount of storage on the tablet for $40 more. Not really that bad of a deal IMO considering how much everything costs to a consumer.

I had my original 8G Nexus 7 for about a year and never ran out of space so when I bought my 2nd generation N7 I opted for the 16G model. I don't keep much on the tablet itself, I have external card readers and wireless drives that I keep photos, music and movies on. Also use the cloud with apps like DropBox and Skydrive.

Marc12868 _ I don't think you're being realistic if you think it only costs Google $20 to build the N7. According to this page: http://www.eteknix.com/google-nexus-7-costs-159-to-build/ it costs Google $159 to build the 1st gen. I haven't seen the build breakdown for the 2nd gen N7 yet.

True but you still get the general idea. The cost to make the 32gb vs the 16gb version for Google is nothing. But what's the point of selling the 16gb and 32gb for the same price? No one would buy the 16gb version.

The cloud is powerful. But if you will have lots of apps on there, or will be playing lots of the top games, you should go for a 32.

I bought a 16gb and with just 4 games installed and a bunch of apps I'm down to about 7-8 gb of storage. I'd probably opt to get a larger size if I was to do it over, I didn't think I'd use all that space up as my phone has a 32gb sd card and I've only used a fraction of it.

I do take advantage of both dropbox and google drive for some storage but just basic apps and a few games seems to eat up a lot of space. Some games do take up to 2gb so it might just be your personal usage but if you don't play games on it then 16 gb should be enough.
