Help Multiple Gmail Accounts

I asked this in the other "Hero" subforum, but I thought I'd ask it here, too. I really like what I see from this phone, but I wonder how it handles multiple Gmail accounts. I have three Gmail accounts for different purposes. My iPhone 3G handles these with no problem. I don't see anything in the Hero manual that indicates that it will play well with multiple Gmail accounts.

Any thoughts?

I don't know if this will work, but this is what I'm going to try.

1. Under Menu->Data Syncronization->Google, turn off Google syncing. I don't want to use Google to manage my emails, contacts, and calendar.
2. Under Menu->Data Syncronization->Exchange, turn on Exchange syncing to manage my emails, contacts, and calendar.
3. In the HTC mail application, setup my Exchange , Gmail pop account, Comcast pop, and Hotmail pop accounts.

I don't see what will stop you from setting up multiple Gmail pop accounts.

i have several gmail accts - i'm gonna do this

i don't mind if not all of them are "push" - what will suck is they're not "fully" integrated the way your primary gmail acct is (contacts, calendar, etc)

its nice it has Exch Active Sync - we'll put the company contacts/cal on there and access them that way

What my understanding is that the emails, contacts, and calendars that are managed by the Google apps are not "fully" integrated with the emails, contacts, and calendars managed by HTC and they will not appear in the HTC widgets.

you can have at least 4 by treating each gmail account as a separate mail protocol.

1. setup as Gmail account on your hero.
2. setup another Gmail account as IMAP.
3. setup another as Exchange activesync. (Mail, Calendar, & Contacts Setup : Set Up Your iPhone or iPod Touch - Mobile Help). directions are for iphone, but the configuration is the same.
4. setup up the final one as POP 3.

careful with the polling rates as i'm sure you can kill the battery pretty fast this way. you'll only get mail sync and not contact and calendar with IMAP and POP 3.

I currently have the following:

1. Main Google Account - Google hosted corporate e-mail syncing calendar, contacts, and e-mail through the gmail interface. All contacts, calendars, etc are available to any app I have tried.

2. Active Sync to corporate e-mail server (I work for one company on-site at another - Syncing calendar, contacts, and e-mail. Calendar events show up in every calendar view available on a stock Sprint Hero, no contacts stored (I just use the GAL) so I don't know if contacts mesh, and e-mail shows up fine as well.

3. Two other gmail accounts setup to check mail via IMAP - No sync available for calendar or contacts for these but with the way Google lets you share calendars I share these with my google hosted email and get all of my events properly color coded and can select which calendar(s) I want to show.

I wouldn't mind being able to sync multiple google accounts for contacts but that's a minor "would be nice" kind of thing. I currently have four different accounts syncing with no issues whatsoever. You just set up the gmail accounts as IMAP as you are not limited to a single IMAP account.
