the internet.
Now I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I'm a weirdo. As of right now there is a desktop, laptop, netbook, tablet, convertable, phablet, smart phone, and dumb phones... At least as I see it. I recently got a new laptop and I'm happy I got it over the new phone I was debating on getting.. but here's the thing, can't my someone just have one dang device that changes everywhere you go??? I have certain info on my laptop that I don't have on my phone, and I really just leave that at home. I'm on the road right now as we speak and I wish I could have brought it with and played soldier front 2 on the way, but it doesnt have a 3g/4g network and its so big... (17.3") and a battery that lives for 3-4 hrs? Cmon...

Oh well I guess, this supposed "post pc era" is more of a technology revolution is all lol

It's much the same for me. I have multiple desktops, laptops spread out where I use them most, smartphones, cordless phones, and corded phones. I don't have a tablet--yet--because I just keep telling myself I don't NEED one. We'll see how long that lasts. :)

You know, that's a really cool idea! A morphing device that could be a nice widescreen laptop when you want it to be, a handy tablet when that's better, a little phone, etc. I wonder if there's anything like that in the works. I'd buy one! :D

What is going on with that Ubuntu Edge project? Not totally familiar with it but hearing bits here and there... that is can be a fully functional PC in addition to being bootable with Android?
I haven't kept up with it, but I was just thinking: Basically, we're all (us Android users) ALREADY running devices that could work as PCs. When I think about the power bottled up inside these tiny devices, it blows me away because they're WAY beyond what full-blown desktop computers used to be. We've got all that power, it's just a matter of harnessing it. I haven't tried doing anything with my phones to turn them into PCs, but I certainly believe it's doable.

If the game's save data is portable, synchronized cloud storage (such as Dropbox+Dropsync app) would make sure it's always on whichever device you're using...and I just happen to have bonus referrals for cloud storage services in my sig! ;)

I honestly use my android phone as my computer. I have a laptop but the last time i used it was probably to root my phone lol. I havent had any need to use the pc. Im gona get a tablet soon for media and that will be the perfect combo :)

This is how I was, but honestly, after getting this 17.3" AMD a8, and 4G of ram (a lot more than I'm used to) laptop, I seriously love the laptop way of things as well.. I guess I don't mind multiple devices, but I'd like to have some more ram and that ubuntu edge project seems similar to what I'm looking for, and I've done some looking at it. Only problem is that I'm a gamer, for those who DON'T know, its very hard to be a gamer on ubuntu lol. Not impossible but very hard.

I iam also loving my new laptop and use google services (like drive) to make it all portable. I do use cloud storage and then Spotify for music (although thinking about switching over to Google play) but still really liking the spotify radio.

I'd still all in all love a 4G laptop for traveling but also still waiting for decent cell coverage where I travel most (the Disneyland resort area which includes the Anaheim Convention Center). Sprint / Virgin (my carrier) has still not rolled out reliable service in this area that works well when it's really crowded!

Our phones are incredible little beasts and a tablet would really get the job done on the road and is lighter but I really still like my laptop (a lot). Touchscreen i5 processor with 6gig of ram, handles everything I through at it really quickly! (not a gamer, really).

I pretty much dumped my laptop as of late. Didn't plan on it... but I can do everything I need to do for business purposes- maybe even more- using my Note 2. I record meetings, take notes, can pull up documents and spreadsheets easily...
Obviously email, transferring documents to print... all a given...
But best for me is quietly S Beaming thoughts and notes to colleagues during stiff business meetings.

No wait... best for me is not having to lug my laptop around on a hot day downtown. I travel easily with my portfolio for paper documents and my Note 2. Therefore... leaving more room in my briefcase for... makeup & the occasional lunchtime shopping spree :D
LOL

I agree having a tablet for media is a great combo. I DO have an iPad 2... but it was shared item in my household that I wound up being the sole user of. My next purchase for sure will be a Galaxy Tablet to make my combo perfect! Just not sure which tablet... like a kid in a candy store... lol
