I wish this phone weren't so freaking huge

Enormous?

I have the Bionic and I actually laid both the Bionic size and Maxx size on a piece of paper to compare.

The Maxx is 0.39 inches taller, 0.17 inches wider, and 0.09 inches thinner than the Bionic.

That's "about 1/3 inch taller" and "about 1/6 inch wider" than the Bionic.

Yeah, you're right. It's not that, that much bigger. It's just that I feel like my current Maxx is already plenty big. I carry this thing around in a holster, and sometimes it just feels unwieldy. Look, I'll probably end up getting the darn thing. I just wish that they hadn't inflated the already big size even further.

Well ...

5.15 x 2.71 x 0.35 in - Droid Razr Maxx
5.41 x 2.80 x 0.33 in - Droid Maxx

0.26 in - taller
0.09 in - wider
0.02 in - narrower

... to me that says "very close to the same size that you currently use".

If smaller than what you have is what you want ... how about ...

5.09 x 2.57 x 0.41 in - Moto-X

It's definitely the height that is the potential issue, although you ARE right, I guess. I think the much bigger screen has kind of distorted my view here.

I am considering the Moto X, but the Maxx has kind of spoiled me re Battery Life. My first Android was the Incredible, which was chiefly "Incredible" for how Incredibly fast it used up the battery!

The reason for my details ... I was concerned by the same issue you brought up. This is gigantic ... will it fit in my pocket? I looked closely at the numbers. The answer is ... it is roughly the same size as what I am using but thinner and a trifle longer.

The 48hr battery claim when it is thinner than what I currently have and faster ... is the reason I pre-ordered one.

Oh, I think you'll be very, very happy with the battery life! I have had mine last for two days sometimes. I don't do that deliberately, but every now and then I will either forget to charge it at night, or the plug will be slightly loose.

This definitely my first choice, but I want to see it "in the flesh" before I make up my mind. I'm also a little unclear about the Moto X. They are claiming 24 hours of battery, which sounds like more than enough, but my experience with the Incredible makes me leery of these battery life claims.
