rumored release date - ??

yeah.. i heard one estimate that put it near the end of nov (i *thought* i remembered that)

reason i'm asking.. it would be cool to get the hero and then, if the Q is better, turn the hero in for the Q

(you get 30-days to return a phone)

Phonearena is saying November 27th (unofficial)

Samsung Instinct Q (Phone Arena)

but yes you get 30 days to return a phone but there are restock fees :(

im definately sticking with the hero

thx

yeah - that was the date i saw

i wish i was so certain - but the HW kybd is big for me

and, the specs are still an unknown - i see the G1 owners sweating whether they have the memory to support an upgrade -- i don't want to be there (well, i'll be there SOMEday no matter what - i just want that day as far away as possible

i gotta balance that against the fact that i really need a new phone

I went from Treo to Blackberry. I was happy with BB until I purchased the Tour. I've pre-ordered my Hero, pick-up Friday and I'm not at all concerned with the lack of physical keyboard. I think within a week I'll be an old pro.

im in the same boat as you i went from the curve to the tour to the pre returned the pre now waiting for the hero i cant wait any longer!!

I never did fall for the Pre Hype. My problem with Palm is once they move on to a new product they neglect their older products. At least with RIM they still support their older products with buggy updates.

Chris you might know the answer to this. Can we Mac users root the Hero?

webos will be cool once everything gets situated with it. Id say a year from now.

As far as rooting i am not sure.

I've played with the Pre while I was waiting on my 2nd, no 3rd Tour to be replaced. Felt like a child's toy to me. I need something more substantial in my hand.

I cant say I ever wanted to even hold the Pre. The size of it alone turns me off, but the keyboard was the worst thing ever. Way to small for the fingers of a child, let alone grown adults.

hero with the sense UI... looking GOOOOD

Q with qwerty/800MHz/amoled screen/5.5hrs talk-time (but w/ "plain vanilla" google UI - and who knows what kind of long-term support samsung will provide??)

dammit! i've already put $50 down at BB and i've got an appt for 10:00 friday (RZ early release)

know what would help?? i want to know what the odds are of "eventually" getting sense on the Q

??
