Root [Boost Mobile] Found a new ROM

When installing this rom, is there a gapps file I also need to install to get the Play Store?? I looked on the xda thread and did not see one?? Thanks.

Nah I'm pretty sure the gapps are included in the ROM the only reason we have to download gaps when on cm or asop is because the developers modify things and take credits for the ROM and while Android is open sourced the Google apps aren't and you should be able to flash with cwm and if you used the all things root thread to get a custom recovery you have cwm but to be sure just boot into your custom recovery pull the battery out and put it back in hold the power volume up and home key at the same time until you see the Samsung screen then let go and it'll boot into your recovery or the simple way go to the play store download an app called rebooter and open it and click on reboot recovery

Basically all recoveries do the same thing and should be able to flash any flashable zip only difference is the developer that makes it and the special feature for example a recovery called twrp is fully touchscreen while using cwm you use the volume up and down keys to navigate and power to select.... Cwm is way older but trustred and usually bug free while twrp is newer and has bugs to work out still but back to the topic I'm sure you have cwm just before you flash anything make a backup and read the instruction carefully don't want a 305 dollar paper weight

One other question, I am on stock rom now, but rooted. I am not sure what recovery I'm on, its the one I installed when I rooted, I want to say cwm, but not sure. My question is, do I have to have a specific recovery to flash this?? Or can I just use the one I installed when I rooted. BTW, this is a boost phone.

If you used the root guide from this thread then you most likely have cwm. You should be able to flash it just fine.

For those with the data issues for Dandroid check his forum on xda he just posted a piggyback zip to flash to enable data after I sent him our apnconf.xml
So be testing as soon as it finishes downloading. :p

His zip fixed the data for those that want to play with his rom

I just restored my previous version of dandroid (3.9.4) and flashed the piggyback zip in recovery and I still do not have data. I flashed back to stock to make sure I still had data and I do.

Well it's flashing as we speak. Hopefully everything works. What recovery are you using Jreinks? I wonder if the CWM like recovery can't flash radios or basebands? I had this problem on the Marquee when I flashed the CWM touch recovery.

That didn't go so well. Data worked and everything seemed fine and then all the sudden the phone rebooted and got stuck in a boot loop. Then as if that wasn't good enough it wouldnt go into recovery. Now I'm trying to get a functional phone again from a soft brick. YAY!!!!

Oh I'm glad I am fluent in anti bricking phones. I had to reinstall TWRP 2.6, wipe everything, reinstall the rom, let it boot, then install the piggyback, then it's a miracle. Everything works. If I'm correct it's a recovery issue. It worked like a charm once I got it unbricked and back in recovery. Jreinks, try the twrp 2.6 on xda. It might just fix your problem.
