change the style of menus when making a custom rom

I am making a custom rom by editing the "working" folder I got when I used dsixda's android kitchen. I would like to know if and how I can edit the menus (settings etc) to make them different from other roms.

Welcome to Android Forums and hello.

If you are working on a ROM that is built from source it might be easier to work from the source code. If you are building a port from, say Samsung's release, then changing the menus will be harder. Assuming that you are not just trying to change the strings for the menu items.

You might want to join one of the forums (ours or another) and work with the other developers for your device. The kitchens I have used decompile to smali code and is real hard to work with for things other than strings and pictures.
