Nova Launcher Prime + Widgetlocker. i like the speedier less-bloated look/feel, plus universal app badges via Prime's 'unread counts' in conjunction with Missed It! (i always thought app badges in iOS were far superior to a cluttered notification bar myself)

I am sure you can do this with any launcher but Nova makes it easy to do and is far more responsive and lag-free vs. launchers like TouchWiz. even if you replace the default TouchWiz or other with Nova, it seems their elements are buried deep into the stock ROM and still cause slowdowns. Nova allows the simplicity of stock vanilla Android while adding nice features.

This is for UI as a whole, not Launchers (should've specified). But I do like your Nova setup

Launchers are part of the UI though, right? other than that it's all apps. and i am not sure one can change app UI, at least, i've yet to see any way to de-pastel Google Play.

I voted "other". I dont like the big heavy manufacturer skins but i like a closely aosp based custom rom with some theming and added features :thumbup:

You can't change the UI (not without a custom ROM/theme) The UI is the look of your stock apps and framework (status bar, lockscreen, etc)

Funky, i am running CarbonROM that has a ton of AOSP style features. i'm still trying to find a way to invert Play though. i'd rather de-pastel it as well as restore the older black/darker looking Play store. i did freeze Market Updater but i got the stupid pastelified Play anyway.

I see what you're saying, but I've yet to set a better looking UI than stock Android (4.0+). Unfortunately I have a Galaxy device with no stable AOSP ROMs as of yet

Look for an inverted gapps package man. The rom im on has "Dark UI" option that does it for you. i havent tried carbon so i duno if it has that option

Stock running Nova Launcher. Touchwiz had its pros and cons. There were some things I liked about it, but stock is way better. Seeing nickdazel's screenshots makes me want to upgrade Nova to Prime.

I am in Dark UI mode, but it doesn't carry over to apps including Play for some reason. if i turn on 'reverse colors' it turns Play and apps dark, but alas, then my main launcher is all pastelified instead.

Stock android is nice and light but being able to make it look how u want like my notification panel here [Hide] View attachment 59541 [/spoiler] is much better imo

Google Play and other apps are separate from the ui and have to be themed separately.

Get an inverted or "dark" gapps package then nick. I like all the google apps dark except G+ for some reason. I tried it dark and it just looked messy so i went back to stock

how would i remove the gapps package i am using now without losing my stuff?
