question about preorder and NE2

ok so i want to preorder this phone and notice that if i chose a 1 year contract i dont get the NE2 discount. is this how its supposed to work? i coudlve sworn ive seen people order this phone with a 1 year contract and still get their NE2? can anyone chime in on this? thanks

I originally thought that's how it was but I've heard several people say that they couldn't use their NE2 if they went with a 1 year contract. Perhaps, after the phone's actual release when they're taking phone orders you can "talk" someone into letting you use the NE2 w/ a 1 year contract but I don't think it's possible on preorders. There's a whole thread about 1 year vs 2 year contracts. I think the 1 year is really only important if you're considering changing carriers rather than just upgrading your phone. If you go for a 2 year, they say that instead of being eligible to upgrade your phone at 10 months into your contract as on a 1 year, you become eligible to upgrade at special pricing at 1 year...only two months difference (with another 2 year contract). The only thing you lose is the NE2. But if you go with a 1 year contract you lose it anyway...

It's ultimately up to you and maybe you want to call and confirm with a (couple of) customer service rep(s), just to be sure they're info matches up. Or you could try your local store as well, if you have one. Hope that helps.

So, I've sent two e-mails and went to one in-store, but they have all said that they will not move up the NE2 date 13 days (5/11/10)... Which imo is a bit ridiculous~

Does anybody know if best buy can expedite that date?

In the mean time, I guess I'll visit another Verizon store

BB doesn't even accept NE2 much less move up the date... Disclaimer: SOME people have had luck with BB offering to match would they would have got from Verizon on their NE2 but its not guaranteed by any stretch...

How long have you been a customer? I've seen storied on here of people getting them moved up months!

Try calling *611 For Verizon CS, be polite, persistent! This will probably yield better results than going to a store. they can do more.

The 1-year NE2 discount is $229.99, if you're seeing the $229.99 price, it's already been applied.
