Who's getting a Note 3?

^^ THIS right here. I couldn't agree more. As much as I love the Note 2, the volume (IMO) should've been louder.
Fortunately I came across a mod that allowed me to increase the volume.

Rooted mod or stock mod? Please share the info :D.

I had mentioned before, but I've perfected the cuff method, when trying to increase the volume level. Works fine for me, but I'm also considering getting a mini bluetooth speaker that can double as a keychain, so I can just quick connect for those times that I'm sharing a video and audio is important.

I'm really considering The Mega (6.3) because the size. I don't mind a "mid range" phone over an expensive "high end" phone that's not that big a jump in screen size. The other reason is I'm getting super tired of these damn no ram space for apps and the stupid battery not lasting long anymore on my Note 1. I have yet to figure out why these two things happen... This is a NEED not a want.

Does the Mega have more RAM than your Note 1?

Getting it. Keeping my iPhone 5, but the Note 3 is a must have.

Based on the rumored specs, I don't see it necessarily being that much of a "must have" over the Note 2.

Now, for some components of it, I personally feel like it could sway me to make it a "must have," especially if I can get a 32 or 64gb version with a microSD slot, while still being the same size or smaller overall than the Note 2.

Probably not. The thought was there for a min but without an S-pen it'd be no good to me.

I just hope, that with all the years showing the flexible screen at CES, but never bringing an actual product to market, that the Note 4 will be the one that would deliver.

I still can't find the post that someone had made, theorizing what the fold out screen would be in tablet form, but from some rough calculations I made (based on the Note 2 screen dimensions), a foldout screen could be a little over 7 inches (diagonally). That's not taking into consideration other factors (e.g. ppi, aspect ratio, etc.).

Rumors like this, don't help me appease my appetite for seeing an all-in-one flexible phone/tablet option (Note: This article was back in May, so obviously nothing has been announced yet...maybe Note 10.1 2nd generation could be the first with it?):

I have a 24 month contract from October 2012 until October 2014 so will not be changing from my note2 until that date. At which time I will decide what is the best phone for me. 14 months from now who knows what phones will be available or which will suite my needs at that time.
I live in a country where 24 month contracts have been the norm since the first iPhone was launched. You sign a contract and then after 24 months the phone is yours. none of the carriers have (in the past) offered a free upgrade within the contract. Why would I throw money on the floor just to get a new "better, smarter, smaller, larger, lighter, heavier, wider etc, etc phone" when the one I have works perfectly well.

I thought Mega was introduced as a budget phone with cut-down hardware. I mean, we are talking about cut-down to the level below 1 year old Note 2 and 3 months old S4, where they are going to have dual-core processor and only 1.5GB of Ram, 720p screen and 8MP camera while keeping only 3200 mAh battery. I was surprised that typically they introduce budget versions in "mini" footprint, this one was maximized although price is something like $100-$150.

Waiting for official Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch announcement during Samsung Unpacked Event on September 4th!!!

Can't wait for Sept 4th!!! Although I'm excited about N3 introduction (and might even consider selling N2 with all my "accessories" to cash in to get funds for buying unlocked N3), I'm more excited about Samsung Gear smartwatch.
