so....i'm just about done with these phones. Doesn't even seem fun anymore.

If I had the opportunity to buy a cell phone from back in 1995, I would right now.

All the ping'ing...telling the world where we're at all the time...even when GPS is off. All the secret apps our spouses could install on our phones without us knowing...to send them duplicates of all our text messages...who were calling, etc... and even not being able to tell if someone installed that on our phones.

I'm just tired of it all...seriously. Gives me a headaches, and I just want peace of mind happyness again. Even the internet in general just sucks.

no wonder people keep their cell phones attached to their hip these days...practically like another part of their body.

How can we tell if a spouse installed a secret app on our phone...that's sending duplicates of all our texts to them ? I heard the paid version hides everything...and makes it very hard to discover.

take me back to 1995....no texts..no smart phones...no constant pinging every second...none of that crap.

sell your phone.. computer, tv, and your other belongings, move into a cave and enjoy your new 1795 lifestyle.. i'm sure you'll love it to bits...

Having a modern day smartphone is a choice. You are not required to have one. If you don't want one, don't own one. It will certainly save on your monthly utilities bill to not be paying for one.

Many people find these phones to make our lives easier and don't believe all the FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) and hype about how intrusive they are. With a little bit of knowledge, some of us have used these phones to make our lives fuller and more social.

It's actually pretty difficult to install an app onto a phone without the user being aware of it. Unless the perp has physical access to the phone of course, but then that's a basic Security 101 fail.

and most people don't have security functions enabled because of it's own nuisances....(having to enter a pin every time just to check a txt message...etc, etc)

The big fat pop-up in your notification bar announcing that "<appname> has been installed" is a bit of a giveaway, though. Not to mention that the perp would need your Google account credentials (username & password> in order to log-in as you to install an app on your handset.

Remove the Access Point Name and the phone just cant connect to the internet :thumbup:

I once read this old proverb were basically it said only those with something to hide resent supervision... do you have texts you don't want your spouse seeing?
