Review of TaoTronics mobile 900dpi cordless scanner w/lots of pics!!!

Have you tried CamScanner? I have been using it since I got my Note II and it is really good for text even on 8x11 size page.

Don't remember which one I tried, it was awhile ago. I will check it out. Thanks! Does it take separate snapshots and 'patch' it up together?

With this taotronics scanner it's one of those gadgets you don't think you need until you get it and then realize "i wish i had it before". So many times my wife mentioned going to my kids school where teacher shows their artwork/drawing which sometimes she can quickly take a picture of. Now, she can just quickly scan it in and then uploaded it later when gets home. Or whenever my daughter goes to my in-laws and looks through magazines where she finds some recipe or artwork - she no longer needs to rip off a page out, just scan and save. And since this scanner is recognized as external peripheral storage device, any new smartphone supporting OTG can read the image.

No it does not patch up multiple pics. It is very good with TEXT because it does an enhance text mode after it took the picture. And it can do OCR to convert the file into a searchable PDF file. The biggest problem is if the document has straight lines, it usually won't show up straight because the page is never completely flat when it is in a book or magazine.

It will be a bit harder to scan considering thickness of the book. If you notice at the bottom one side has rollers while the scanning lens it a the other edge. I would probably start by positioning lens right inside of the book fold and scan outwards stopping when the rollers gets to the end of the page. Gotta also keep the pressure down to flatten the page.
