$199 - that is what I wanted to pay for the Maxx, not $299. Here are two options for the more patient people.

Amazon

Wirefly

NOTE: Neither of these places currently have them in stock, of course that will change.

Edit- I ordered thru Amazon and it states this - "DELIVERY ESTIMATE: WE NEED A LITTLE MORE TIME TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A GOOD ESTIMATE." Originally when I ordered it said Oct 8 but the CSR I spoke with said that isn't accurate.

go to bestbuy and have them pricematch that price. don't buy from wirefly/amazon, they have secondary contracts you enter on top of the VZW contract.

I appreciate the advice but I like Amazon and have ordered phones from them before. A six month lock in with either company doesn't phase me, I'm not a flakey wireless subscriber.

Plus it's probably better to wait for me personally anyways.

I got mine for essentially $199 right from Verizon. Here's how. Motorola has a trade in program wherein if you bring a specified Motorola device to the Verizon store, they give you a $100 gift card with purchase of the Maxx. So I bought one of the listed phones on eBay for $10 and used that for the trade-in. Worked like a charm!

More details please. Did you activate the phone on your account, are you waiting to be reimbursed, does phone have to work, etc....

i meant if you wanted to move the phone to a line with unlimited data, you couldn't at amazon/wirefly (without paying the ETF on the 2nd contract), but you could at bestbuy (there's no second contract). and bestbuy will pricematch amazon.

Interestingly, both Amazon and Wirefly are showing me eligible for my upgrade now, but Verizon says it's not until the 28th. And both have it for $199. I'm going to check out a Moto X at an AT&T store this weekend, and unless it blows me away, I'll come home and order my Maxx from Amazon. My only worry is that it's out of stock. But I suppose if I have to wait a week or so, it's worth it to save $100....

Did the preorder today at Best Buy Mobile. They priced matched the $199 price no questions asked. I asked about them price matching Radio Shack or Wirefly and he said no problem. They had no idea when they would start shipping.

Im still wondering if i should have walked out with the Galaxy S4 for $150. He said they would price match Amazon on the GS4.
Id rather deal with BB as well, especially after reading some of the negatives about dealing with Wirefly.

Yes, the phone was activated on the spot (it was an upgrade). Phone doesn't have to work, AFAIK. I think the plan is supposed to required the VZW store to give you a Verizon gift card which can be used later to pay your bill or buy accessories. However, my store didn't really know about the deal so they just took $100 off the price of the phone.

I did the preorder in store and asked them about price matching Radio Shack first. And then as he was doing up the paper work, i asked if they would price match Wirefly as well and he said sure.

I had him write on my reservation paper work that it was a price match at $199. I asked if the price changed at either retailer before the phone ships, if they would still do the price match and he said not to worry.

We will see what happens when the phone comes in. With this deal being plastered on various sites and im sure plenty of people trying to take advantage of it, maybe they will begin scrutinizing their price matching policy a little more.

Oh well the $50 dollar deposit is refundable or transferable to a different phone. I will probably grab the S4 for $150 if i have to pay $299 for the Maxx.

I'm trying to upgrade through Wirefly but the Share Everything plans aren't showing up...I want Unlimited Talk/Text & 4GB shared data (maybe 6 but not sure), but my options are 4GB w/ Hotspot + 1000msg, or 5GB no Hotspot +1000msg. Why is there not an unlimited messaging option? I tried calling customer service but I had to hang up on the guy because he wasn't understanding what I'm talking about.
