How to MANUALLY add PRL file? How to put this phone in DIAG mode?

I bought the LG F3 for 159.99$ USD and wanted to put it on page plus.

I have a laptop so I understand we need to use some kind of COM PORT virtual program to use it with CDMA tools.

So I downloaded this

HW virtual serial port

HW VSP (Virtual Serial Port) - Free Virtual Serial Port to connect any TCP/IP Terminal server to your Windows as a virtual serial port

does anyone here know how to MANUALLY put the PRL file on this phone, or has had success with CDMA WORKSHOP? Or How put it in DIAG mode?

You can use QPST.
Here is a tutorial for the Lg Motion, the CDMA F3 should be similar-

Be sure to get the latest version of QPST, older versions may not work.
You'll need to get the appropriate PRL file for your carrier.
Also be very, very careful about what parameters you mess with to avoid screwing up your phone.

hmm, I will check this out, thank you for your useful information, But the phone fails to go into DM mode.

I have enabled debug in the menu in developer options in adnriod and this has NOT helped

From all that I've read over the last 2 1/2 years of owning android phones on Metro, I'm under the impression that you can't just flash a phone from one CDMA provider to another. You have to take it to the provider store and they have to flash it on to their network.

what are you talking about, I flashed my old LG DARE from verzion to page plus, and also my SAMSUNG admire from metro PCS to page plus, but I could put those phones into DIAG mode.

All you do is change the PRL file, and then have said company active it....

data and mms is another thing, but its easy to get talk and text by just changing prl

u press ##DIAG# on the phone will bring you to the DIAG menu

then enable, connect to PC via cable, make sure you have the andriod to CHARGE ONLY, and then use CDMA workshop to change PRL!!!

so now, instead of being on virgin mobile, I will be able to use this phone on pageplus(verizon network)

I am also looking for same solution.
do let me know if any one got thru DIAG mode for VM F3
Also after diag mode is this phone flashable, as most of VM phones are port locked.

Yep, LG locks the ports on most VM phones. You might have luck opening the port if you put it into USB tethering mode using the built in tethering program. Also USB debugging should be enabled.

I know VM phones are locked. But not all like htc one v was open, samsung victory was open port.

So wanted to know this LG is locked or not ?

I don't have device in hand. As I am not in USA . I will buy it for using it in India.
If port is open I can flash it to my carrier. Other wise it will become costly paperweight for me
