[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

Just for the record, I'm not having this problem. Did a clean flash including wiping /system in recovery. Also used the alternative gapps package I mentioned earlier in this thread.

my peso's worth. . . . .

I always do a factory reset and wipe both caches before flashing a rom. Maybe it's not playing nice with one of my apps, or I have too much running and the phone couldn't load it (it seems sluggish on the times the rom wouldn't load, but fine if I did load it). I tried to reboot the phone a dozen times today and couldn't get it to load, so I gave up.

It's a shame because I really like AOKP, but I flashed CM 10.1.2 because it's got most of the features I really like, and I'll probably give AOKP another try when the next milestone is released.

Anyone else having issues with Theme Chooser crashing?
I am also getting the Theme Provider error. It happens every time the screen rotates. I did do a dirty flash from Milestone 1 to Milestone 2, but no other issues to report.
Clear data for the theme chooser app and all will be fine with it. :)

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but it's pretty frustrating.

I'm running Milestone 2, and roughly 4 out of 5 times I boot my phone, the navigation buttons and notification bar won't load. I'll wait up to 15 minutes with no luck. This happens when I reboot from the power menu, remove the battery and restart, and turn off the phone completely. Obviously this is very frustrating. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

Edit: I tried re-flashing the ROM (including doing a factory reset, and wiping both caches), and after a little use the problem came back.

Not on mine. its never gave me an issue.

No, its all good for me.

I've got a weird problem. My email and gmail accounts have stopped auto syncing and instead of checkmarks under accounts, all I can do is press to sync now.
???

Same as above, its all good.

My Nexus is running the Milstone2 as solid as a rock. A fanboy of Leankernel I have not even changed the one it came with.

Mine runs so good, with excellent radio, battery and responsiveness I dare not change a thing and have nandroids backed up off of the device for safe keeping. I am happy riding this one out until my contract is up but will try the next official or MS.

Knocking On Wood!

I found my problem. I was watching something else and saw something about just plain 'sync' and it reminded me of the old 'power widget' and I said, "Aha!, let me double check my toggles". I added the sync toggle back, turned it on and now all is good in my world.

I've been loving the heck out of this rom and didn't want to do a full clean reinstall and now I don't have to. Woot!

And to the rest of you, thanks for nutin'! LOL just kidding.

I can't believe that this was the answer, but only because it should have been the first answer. @ myself

Hello everyone,

So I just installed this ROM and things are good with my phone again, but like all new ROMS (especially jumping from ICS to JB) there are a lot of simple things that I cannot figure out how to do. Is there a wiki or manual? Can I just post some really basic questions to you folks? here are a few

How do I set the quiet hours?
What are ribbons and how do I use them?
What is "Dark AOKP"?
Where do I get different themes (recommendations)?
Is there a fast charge function?

Since there was a jump between android versions and I am on a new OS it is kind of overwhelming.

Thanks

-S

I believe the Nexus 5 is the next "new thing" but it's made by LG and I will never own another LG phone again. If anyone thinks the Sammy reception stinks, try an LG. Unless of course they've upped their game.

And in all honesty, I'm pretty sure there is still some active developement for the Gnex, but from what I've read anything abot Android version 4.2.2 has become pretty buggy. I'm still running this 4.2.2 MR1 version of this ROM now.

This thread has died, hasn't it?

4.3 is out as of 12/17. Initial reports from Rootz (which doesn't appear to be a lot more alive than this thread) point to problems with the LTE toggle not working and some problems that might be unique the individual.

If I'm reading it right, the stock kernel doesn't support fast charge, but that's an easy enough fix.

Man, I want a 5, but no one has anything good to say about any carriers other than Big Red 'round these parts... :(

If you're looking for a good carrier to switch to from Big Red then I know T-Mo is pretty good, same with AT&T.

However, Big Red has some good devices out right now. I know I switched from the GNex to Note 3 and I love it.
