Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

It actually is on 3g but it thinks it's on 1x all the time

Correct I have noticed that.... but I mean more along the lines of the 3G connection repeatedly dropping. For instance, since day 1, as soon as I get a 3g connection it'll hold until I stop using data for about 20-30 seconds.... then it drops to 1x and I've gotta make a call or airplane mode toggle for the 3g lock to come back...... I've literally cruised on cdma only for months lol

At some point between flashing the new cm9 versions between 8/21 and 8/30 I have lost facebook and twitter notifications. I get text message and email notifications, but not fb and twitter. I checked in their apps settings and everything looks okay. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know how to fix this?

I've had issues with other apps not showing notifications (Tapatalk specifically). I think I fixed it by clearing data then logging back in to my account.

The battery doesn't last on this rom wat can I do to make it better

I get 16hours and 40 minutes of battery life after a full charge, and so far, that's been accurate. I don't have alot going on with my phone tho. I have Maps for live gps and OsmAnd for offline. Pandora for my car radio, and a couple messengers(facebook, skype). If I'm driving around, only a gps and pandora are going. At home, I disable gps and 3g data completely, and turn off my messengers. But, I have a pc at home. My vmphone is basically a really smart gps and radio. If it applies to you, turn off all the hardware you don't need (Gps, wifi, 3g). I got the stock battery, my guess is your apps are draining you.

In my opinion performance is better, and no problem so far with use of the camcorder by itself, the battery seems to drain faster though. The main battery usage coming from 'Media Server' and 'Maps'. On the VM stock Rom I woudd usually force close maps but never noticed media server under battery usage in stock Rom. Nice update though, Thanks

Functionally it's the same kernel, but I've made it with a different compiler. Among other things, Linaro maintains a very efficient and cutting edge gcc, so more efficiencies/optimizations that have been discovered over time are implemented. The best benefits come from switching on code optimization, but I've only run it through the size optimization. Even still I'm seeing better I/O and as such load times seem to be better. There's debate on how much switching toolchains helps, but I'm hopeful I can squeeze some extra speed and stability out of this phone. I haven't had much observation time with it either, but battery drain seems to be slightly lower, managed an extra couple hours.

Any special procedure to flash the kernel other than clear cache/dalvik?

Appreciate the explanation.

Is anyone having problems with the video recording?

Just flashed 8-30-13 Build. Camera works fine (including the Volume up for taking photo. Video will record, however, when playing back, error dialog is displayed, 'Sorry, this video cannot be played'. Pressing OK on the error and then replaying the video does not generate any error dialog.

After playing the video and exiting camera app and then going back into camera app, an error dialog is displayed, 'Can't connect to the camera'. Pressing the OK button exits the camera app. Going back into the camera app does not render any errors - with the exception of the video problem explained earlier.

This is already known. Some sort of conflict between lib camera and genlock crashes the mediaserver after leaving preview or exiting the camera.

I have kind of a weird issue. I use Llama for automatically setting profiles, based on my location. The notification icon is displayed very oddly with CM9. I'm attaching a screenshot, the icon should be a picture of a llama with three dots over it, the dots aren't showing up properly. When I have it on my loudest profile, it displays what looks more like a line, with part of it being red, instead of 4 cyan dots.

I'm attaching screenshots showing both icons. I can also attach ones showing the icons on Sleipnir, using my girlfriend's Elite, if needed.
