"Triple Flu" for Droid

I have read online a few time mention of a "triple flu" policy at Verizon that says if you have to get a replacement phone 3 times that they will give you a new phone of equal or lesser value for free. I for one have had a sort of bad luck streak with my droid and am currently on my fourth. I also would not be opposed to get a droid incredible as a payment for my troubles if it was free.

Has anyone else heard of such a rule, or has anyone successfully gotten a new phone this way?

Back when everyone at my high school had this one phone...some gray flip phone...I had it and it messed up 3 times and they offered me an "Equal or lesser value" phone and it was DEFINITELY lesser value lol! It was some cheap motorola razr...can't stand the buttons lol. But I dunno...i've had 3 droids now, but I had to call the warranty place for my 3rd cause the in-store people wouldn't give me a new one...

oh. Im pretty sure the lemon law is for cars... but anyways... I might have to call in (no way in hell im going to another vzw store) and ask about it on thursday or something.

Yes I have heard this. I believe the rule is after three bad phones in 90(I think) days you can get a replacement BRAND NEW or a phone of equal or lesser value. You would not be able to get the incredible because its priced at 250 while the droid is 200. Hope that helps!

The incredible is 200 on the Verizon site. In fact, the retail price of the incredible is LESS then the droids!

OH WOOPS! ahah sorry I just remembered the rumored price from a week or two ago. well i guess that changes things. Just know that verizon is often very stingy about giving away brand new phones and will most likely try to tell you no.

I had the same issue with the Eris, I had about 4 of them and then one day that one started acting funky, i called the nationwide customer service (soooo much better than the morons in the store, who are all salespeople and the technical service people have to get the final say so from a salesperson so everything that leaves their store without being purchased is money out of their store/pocket.) The guy on the other end told me he could send me a new one, i told him no the Eris had too many problems and he offered the Droid (definitely not equal or lesser value) I said that would be fine and he sent it out next day. One thing to remember when you trade it in you willl not get a brand new in the box incredible, it is going to be a refurb, unless you do it right when they come out. If you wait a few weeks it will probably be a refurb but i haven't had any problems at all with my droid and its a refurb. Also waiting a couple weeks may be the best bet because they may be wary about your claim if you just decide to call up and request the incredible right when its released.

So here is my experience with this program. It is actually called " Multi Fru" and you have to have had three replacements in 90 days. The kicker is if you get another model in the same or lesser range that is NEW then they up your new every two upgrade date by six months, not your contract but you can not get a new phone for an extra six months after your contract expires. I had six voyagers and told them I wanted the Dare and got a new in box one and got the six month extension. So basically if your upgrade now is July 2011 then you cant upgrade until like February 2012. So do the program if you like but be prepared for another phone to come out soon that you might want but probably wont be able to get lol.

Yes but let me tell you from a have it now point of view lol. I wanted to do this for the incredible even though I am still on the droid I bought on day one lol. However I can tell you that there will be a much BETTER phone right around the corner that you will want even more
