Root Idiots Guide To Rooting Kindle Fire HD 7" 7.2.3

I have tried on and off for months to root my Kindle Fire HD without any luck. Always says can't open files, nothing ever gets accomplished. I'm good at computers, but obviously not tech savvy enough to do this. Even the idiots guide is above my expertise. Does anyone have a detailed, simple English, way to do this that I might actually be able to do? I really am a college graduate, fairly intelligent person, but I fail big time at this task.

The guide looks really superb and so far im following it to the T, however, i've encountered my first problem, which , I feel might not be easily solved.
In section 2 - preparing your kindle, I come to the step where i have to d/l and install ES Esplorer, now to the problem, my country is not a supported one and hence I am not allowed to download this :( (as you see im gimped using kindle , even more than anyone else, as I not only cant usee the google app store but neither can i use the amazon one)
If you have a solution to this, please make it a detailed one as in the original post as im not too sharp on using the kindle (seeing as so far i've only ever used it as an ereader)

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I managed to solve my problem with get Es explore by looking a bit around on the kindle forums (turns out all i needed to do was add my current residecne in the amazon page ), however the current ES eexplore is version 3.0 and i cant find the menu button on it... definately not in the middle lower area ) sounds dumb i know :(

My Kindle fire HD 7" software version is 11.3.1.0 ? no where near the 7's you guys have? why is that? and how can i root it?

Well, 7 might have been the most updated version of, the onboard firmware at the time. This method should work fine for you as well.

Remember to follow the instructions carefully and you should have a rooted kindle at the end of it.

that version is from the "new" 7 running Fire OS 3.0 . it might be a while until a root is found for that device. these methods wont work :/

so what your saying is if your on 11.3.1.0 this guide to rooting wont work, but is there a way to downgrade to 7.2.3 or other workable firmware from 11.3.1.0 new to kfhd 7 aswell as rooting it

it cant be done because its a newer model with different to similar hardware, but your in luck because i just found a thread to where theyve found ROOT for 11.3.1.0. be aware for anyone trying this method on an older model kindle will NOT work. this is for kindle(2013) Model.

First off great job I really like the comprehensive instructions. I have the kindle fire HD 8.9 and Im having issues rooting my device. I have the Adb files installed and have run the bin4ry version 31 however when I try to use quemo root it says access denied. I have installed java and downloaded the runme.txt but I am stuck on what to do next. Thanks!

First, many thanks for the hard work on this root; I've rooted all my devices and never come across a monster like this. Excellent work. Now here's a question you're probably tired of hearing: I have version 11.3.2.1, the newest,I suppose. Will the most recent instructions work for me, to your knowledge? I admit that I haven't read every last post, as this is a biggie, so sorry if I call forth any redundancy. Again, excellent diligence and hard work!
