Help poor wifi since the update

Hi all,
Since the update my one ex's WiFi reception is frankly rubbish!
I have to be stood next to the router to get more than one bar!

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

What can I do too improve it!

Can I uninstall the update?

As far as I know you cant uninstall the update no,

Have you tried a soft restart (holding the power button down for 10 seconds)?

If that doesn't work then a factory reset often solves problems after updates, make sure your fully backed up first though

I'm thinking the same about WiFi....I had no problems with it before. But since the update I struggle to get a signal sat on the sofa, although closer to the router is fine. Perhaps I was lucky before, I'll see how fed up I get with it before a system reset comes my way

same here, wi-fi signal has deteriorated substantially since 4.2.2 was installed - and it wasn't very good before either. What with the crap GPS signal too, I've had enough of this phone and will not go near another HTC product ever again.

phone was great before update.
at this very moment sat with laptop with full bars and phone with one bar!!!
what have they done, I used to have better reception than my laptop.
may be bye bye htc!!

Gently apply preasure to the rear of your phone, to the right of the cam, and i bet your signal improves.

Its a design fault, where the aerial works loose.

I think their are two issues. The general well document hardware problem of the loose antena attachment which was there for some HOX built before the 4.2.2 update.

Now this update (for those owners) made wifi signal go from bad to catastrophic. I use to have a decent ( not good) signal in my office 20feet away from the router now I barely catch a signal.


When compared with my galaxy tab 8.9 and an old Iphone 3gs the signal is more than 20db weaker.

This problem is documented on multiple sites and forum.


No reaction from HTC so far.

Same here before the update signal was ok.. since the update i have to virtually sit on the router to get a signal.. very disappointed
