Root [Boost Mobile] Roms?

Im running m.o.a.r. rom for about a week now so far so good. Sux there are not more devs with this phone i figured boost got an s3 everyone would buy it!

The devs will come, hopefully.

Boost pricing it at $400 was kind of high too. Thankfully the prices are starting to drop. I bought mine at Radio Shack for $349.

i was an early adopter i got it before the release date. i thought this would be the popular phone. oh well i have no regrets i love the phone

Bro, I have no regrets either. This phone is great. What's even better is it will hold a signal. I haven't had a dropped call since bringing it home.

I'm still figuring out all the goodies. Lol, I just found out I can unlock it with my voice. The surprises keep coming. I have a feeling this phone will be with me for some time to come.

I agree there too. Samsung devices are definitely nice. That Prevail of mine is almost indestructible. Lol. Having Odin sure helps too, I had TWRP flashed in a few seconds. Got this puppy rooted and was back up and running all in less than 10 minutes.

Now I'm looking at some custom ROMs.

Oh, I can't forget to give props to all the Devs who made it possible either. Thanks guys. The switch over from the HTC One SV has been a painless one.

Oh don't get me wrong I love my s3 especially after still being on the prevail just last year. Started this year off with zte warp sequent which was an excelent phone for its price but going to s3 u already know if u own one! Seeing shabby in this thread got me super excited that guy is like the jesus of the prevail lol

Lol. Man, I've got to admit I got a little excited when I saw Shabby in here too. I had the Prevail the 1st week Radio Shack started selling them and was there when Shabby, Hroark, Kouma, and Bloodawn set the Prevail section on fire. Those were some great days man. :thumbup:

I agree, i remember when themes were a big deal on the prevail. i mean imo there's not much you can do to the S3 to make it better its an amazing device I used to hate company themed android like samsung touchwiz (glad the prevail didnt have it one of my deciding factors on getting the prevail), HTC Sense, and MotoBlur. i would def prefer vanilla android or aosp as were calling it now. but touchwiz on my S3 dont think i could live with out it! damn i still cant believe what the prevail became after they got ahold of it! which is why shabby had me all hyped could you image the S3 if Shabby, Hroark, Kouma, and Blood got in on the action! we might just have a phone that could fly us around the world, charge its self, turn the volume down on my nagging wife, dress my kids for school, and even have dinner on the table when i walk in the door. lol def :smokingsomb: :car:


Edit: If I had the money id send em all an s3 it would def be worth it!

Once I flashed an AOSP ROM on the S3, I realize how bloated and slow touchwiz is. I literally can't go back to a touchwiz based ROM now, because I feel like I'm in slow motion.

I've ran a few of the Sprint TW ROMS on my Boost S3 and they work fine. Ive just had to do the MMS fix.

If you know of a AOSP ROM that is fully functional on Boost phones, please share a link. I would love to try one.

The ROM build is v4.2 with MD4.

My baseband is L710VPAMG2


From what I've read. it looks like a few of us are running different basebands.

I've got to thank Capn069 for the great information on the ROMs though. He is the one who recommended this ROM. I like the original blue theme and the fact that it has other themes too. You guys know me though, I'll probably end up trying all of the ROMs that are compatible with the Boost version.

We need to start a list of all the ROMs which will work with the Boost S3. That could come in very handy.

Thanks. I'm definitely glad this ROM was suggested. I've know of few other ROMs that work well with the Boost S3 but I just can't bring myself to change at the moment. I was going to try a different one today but I seem to keep finding new, cool things with this one. lol

One thing's for sure, I am loving my S3.

Any of the touchwiz roms will work with a few changes such as the mms. A data profile update fixes data. I've tried just about everything xda has as far as tw and a few aosp such as pacman and vanilla rootbox. Only problem with aosp is we need a flashable zip with the correct data and mms settings that we can flash after the rom.

There are 3 different theme variations for wicked sensations and probably a hundred different visual tweaks for it as well. Use the kuban updater and check out the notification mods and stuff.

Kevin, I had to do the MMS fix on it. Also, the only way I was able to get my MSL was to call Boost. It looks like most of the other old ways to get the MSL won't work with the new update. (GetMyMSL, aLogcat, Terminal Emulator, etc)

I followed the steps listed here. Don't flash the zip at the top. Make all the changes manually. You probably already know this but I figured I would go ahead and mention it just in case.

Another I'd suggest if it could be ran with boost is MOAR

Highly customizable too via aroma installer, more than wicked I believe.
