HTC Inspire 4G Screen Repair Take Apart Guide:
- Start with removing the battery. To do this, remove the long cover located on the side of the phone. With the cover detached, you can then glide the battery out.
- Then take away the cover sited at the bottom portion of the phone. This is simply slid off with a bit of downward pressure.
- The last housing cover is located near the camera. This small piece of housing will need to be lifted from the inside. Attempting to remove the piece from the outside will normally result in damaged clips. The suggest method of removing the cover is to use a spudger tool and feed it through the battery slot. You can then apply upward pressure from the inside and use a safe open pry tool to help lift it from the outside.
- Once all of the housing covers have been removed, there will be five (5) torx T5 screws (red circle) that need to be removed.
- Remove the small metal plate from the bottom left of the bottom cover (yellow). You are required to take away the sticker/product label in the battery compartment. This will provide you access to the volume button flex cable. Lightly slide this cable out from behind the volume button, be careful as this is very fragile. Once the cable is lifted from the housing, you can continue.

- We can now remove the back housing by lightly lifting it from the rest of the phone.
- Find the three (3) torx T-5 screws holding the plastic cover at the bottom of the phone (red circles). Take away these and the plastic cover by lightly lifting it away (pale blue).
- Remove the rubber bumper and tape located near the sim card tray (note located near orange). A large pop connector will be expose near the bottom of the phone, this is the LCD flex cable. Lift up the connector using safe open pry tool (dark green).
- Now take away the antenna cable frame, this is a small piece of metal sited at the top of the battery compartment. Just pull it up and away. (blue, above battery compartment)
- Pry the vibrator motor up using safe pry tool, this is located below the battery connector (pink).
- You can now take away the loud speaker, this is the oval speaker sited next to the camera (yellow). Lightly lift the speaker up and take away the one (1) small Phillips screw hidden underneath (blue circle).
- Now remove of the ear speaker from the housing (teal). Do it without disconnecting the speaker from the motherboard, just pry it up and away, be cautious of the flex cable.
- Detach the black antenna cable, placed next to the ear speaker by prying it up with a safe open pry tool (blue cables).
- You can now remove the tape covering the sim card tray. It is held in place with a pop connector. Detach this and remove the sim card tray assembly (orange).
- On top of the battery port, there is one (1) last torx T5 screw, take away this (red circle).

- You can now remove the full motherboard assembly. Be cautious nothing else is attached and gradually work it away from the rest of the phone.
- Start heating the screen assembly using either a heat gun or hair dryer. Use quick movements, all around the back and front of the assembly. This should only take about 60 seconds.
- Using of a pry tool, flat head screwdriver, spudger or any thin bit of metal on the small hole ((red) has the bar codes, etc) on the back of the assembly, you will need to release all of the very strong adhesive, holding the screen assembly in place. This is the most tedius and important step. The more adhesive you can release from the back side, the easier it will be to remove the screen assembly.
