Iphone 4G vs. Droid Incredible vs. Galaxy S

I didn't list the HTC Evo for obvious reasons, (It is the best).

But so far from what we know about these 3 phones, which do you see as being the best of the 3? They all look like they will be great super smartphones though.

I think we know the least about the iphone, so we have to judge from what we know (or think we know).

Me personally, I think its the galaxy s for a couple reasons.

- Super AMOLED (stunning quality)
- 4 inch screen
- 1Ghz Hummingbird processor

The things I don't like about it are:

- Lack of hardware Qwerty (But the Galaxy S PRO does have one)
- Only 2 off screen buttons (back and home I think) and no track ball/pad
- No camera flash
- Looks so similar to the iphone 3gs (even on the apps screen)

Hope to see some of your thoughts on these 3.

It would be nice to see the specs on these phones compared with each other...

I have a feeling the Galaxy S will end up topping the Evo. I haven't compared them too closely yet but I get the feeling the form factor may give it an edge. But once video I saw of the screen....its on some other stuff!!! I could only imagine what it looks like in person. It may not have TV out but according to their presentation (which I couldn't stand to watch all the way through) it has some new wireless TV control and video streaming system. I don't know if its an emerging standard or something proprietary from Samsung. Also it looks like Samsung may have gotten TouchWiz right this time around.

I'm getting an Incredible but honestly I think the Evo and Galaxy S will top it. I'll wait for the next round in 2 years when 4G is around. Either way you slice it man this is a great year for Android enthusiasts.


The iPhone 4G or whatever they plan to call it isn't even in the picture. Just leave it to the Apple cult folk.

Yes you can add a poll. the galaxy s can't touch the evo. 4g connectivity, wifi hotspot for up to 8 devices? 4.3" screen? Htc? Please... as an owner of a relatively new samsung device, and an owner of previous htc devices, htc definately has the upper hand here.

After going through 6 Samsung phones in under 6 months (they internally failed with no abuse, could be partially they were all the same phone model but there were two differnt kinds which I tried both) and then having a HTC that after 3 year still looks new, I would never go back to a Samsung.

@ Iowa, I. Think we are all agreed that the Evo is the best but that wasn't one of the choices lol. But I take it you prefer the incredible over the iphone 4g and galaxy s?

Yeah, samsung makes decent mid-range, but nothing I would consider in the same league as galaxy and incredible. As for iPhone 4.0, we'll have to see what they stuff into it.

Samsung made phones like the omnia, omnia II, Omnia HD which were failures. Notably the Omnia II was an EPIC failure due to the resistive screen they used. It was a disaster.

I think the Samsung Moment is definently a top notch device. Especially once 2.1 comes out. Is it the best? No. But its still pretty good in my opinion. So I haven't totally given up on Samsung yet lol

Only thing I wish I had is multitouch/pinch to zoom, a bigger screen, Super AMOLED, better camera quality, no cdma lock ups/airplane mode glitches, and a faster processor.

But even without those editions/fixes, it is still very suitible for my needs. I personally think its better than the HTC Hero/Droid Eris due to the Amoled and faster processor. But I do believe that the Newer ones like the Droid, Nexus 1 and Incredible are better. (Not by a landslide though).

The Evo will really up the ante though.

You're comparing a phone that comes out in 3 days with two that have TBA release dates. Chances are, the latter two will have more "advanced" features. That's the way technology works in this ultra-fast-paced crazy industry.

i think the galaxy s is better than the evo, have you seen the super amoled screen!?

evo sure is nice but is too big, not really interested in 4g most countries dont have it anyway.

screen res is the same however on the evo it is stretched to fill a bigger screen.

evo 65k colours, galaxy 16m also plays hd divx/xvid mkv

however have not ruled out new iphone just yet
