Where can i buy this phone when not upgrading?

So i am not due for an upgrade for a long time so i am looking to buy this at full price. besides ebay and craigslist, where else can i buy this at full price. Can i actually go into Verizon and buy it without a contract? any help is appreciated. thanks!

+1 Yup - I'm ashamed to admit I've done exactly this. More than once. You'll get a message that you aren't eligible for an upgrade, but can buy the phone at full price. If you turn your PC speakers up all the way when you submit your order, you can actually hear the Verizon guy from the commercials whisper "sucker" when you submit your order.

You'd be better off paying the early termination. Depending on how long you've had the phone it will probably be about $300 bucks or so. Then you can get the Incredible at the 2 yr price $199 after 100 instant rebate online or $269 for 1 yr contract after rebate online. Then you can sell the eris outright.

You're forgetting the $35 activation fee that Verizon would charge a new customer 300+199 = 499 + 35 = 534 which is more than it would cost him to just buy the phone. Not to mention I believe ETF would also cost him his phone number.

If you really wanted to terminate it you could terminate just that line then add a new line with the phone would would still get you the new line discounts.

i thought it costed a crap load to terminate...i mean i JUST upgraded my contract 2 months ago. would it be that easy?

You COULD do it but you would get slammed with the ETFs and whatnot. You're more than likely better off just buying the phone outright.

Do this instead, find a local verizon retailer, then break in and "borrow" an incredible, then activate it. Even if you get caught you'll still pay less in attorney fees and court costs then to buy one outright. Kidding of course, i take no responsibility for this great idea, my brain does all the thinking!

Amazon might have a better deal, or you could just walk in and get one.

If you get it from amazon, you might be able to skip taxes too. You often don't have to pay them online. I think you only do if they have a store or warehouse in your state.

Does anyone know what Best Buy's phone return policy is?

I plan on getting the Inc on thursday at full retail price from Best Buy, but want to know if I can return it within 30 days or so with no restocking fee?
