Review of Klipsch Image S4A (II) headphones with pics!!!

Despite Android version of S4II, sometimes, the button does not work, such as stopping music playing or skipping a song. It would not respond at all or take an eternity to respond. Often times, i would just unplug the earphones from my Note 2 and then plug it back in...and voila, it works again. An annoyance.

BTW, i am using my S4II with Samsung Music Player. For whatever reason, my playlist/songs (from iTunes) would get randomly deleted when using Google Music app. Samsung Music Player has not done that. Weird.

But you have this problem with S4 II, not S4A II? I'm using S4A II and it has been working great. Sometime I just double-click button too fast and it thinks I clicked it once to pause the song. Other than that, it has been working great. Been listening to these the whole weekend. Definitely my FAVORITE pair of headphones now!!!

I'm using the s4a with my note2. I like the sound but i have this problem with only getting sound from one ear. When i first got it they worked great then after a couple of weeks the right side stopped working. i sent klipsch a message & they sent me a replacement. Well, the same thing happened. After a couple of weeks of play the right side stopped working. Currently the left side has stopped working & the right side now works. I checked my phone settings and the balance is set in the middle. Has anyone else heard of anything like this before?

Strange, almost sounds like a wire problem. But two times in a row, what are the odds of that?!? Do you fold your earphones in the included pouch/bag? I wonder if it gets bent in some weird way that causes pre-mature wear'n'tear of wires.

Not unheard of. I have read stories of this happening on Klipsch and other earphones. Contact Klipsch again is my only advice. I would however look at your habits and see if you're too rough with them OR maybe you should get Klipsch more rugged earphones instead. Remember, it is OK to get the Apple-version.

I don't feel like I am too rough on them, but I guess I could be wrong. I do keep them in my pocket & not in the case though. For $80 they ought to be pretty durable. Klipsch already sent me a replacement set so I don't think contacting them will do any good. Its really strange that they work at first then after a couple of weeks they stop working. I'm wondering if it could be the phone that I am using. I might try them on my computer & see if they work on that. If I were going to use the apple version why not just use apple earbuds? By the way when I had an iphone I never had a problem like this with the apple earbuds & I used them the same way.

Good...Klipsch customer service is excellent!

You can use Apple earbuds if you want...even though it has three buttons, the center button works just like your button on the S4A. That was my point. You can buy Klipsch S4II for Apple and use it the same way that you are using S4A...no difference...you can't use the volume buttons on the Apple version, but the center button works the same.

The reason that you want Klipsch over Apple earbuds is the sound quality, right? The current Apple earbuds are not bad (I also have iPhone 5), but I still prefer S4A II for the wamer sound and noise isolation.

Good point about phone ear jack. Definitely try it on your laptop or another audio source to see if the problem with travel with earphone or stay with a phone.
I will. Sorry to hijack your post like this. I would love to use the klipsch earbuds because I agree with you about the sound quality but if I cant get sound to come out of both sides its somewhat a moot point. I originally tried a Bluetooth device but I couldn't get that to work either. It would be nice to not have to deal with the wires but I had a hard time with streaming audio so that's why I went with the klipsch because I've heard of them before & thought they would be pretty good.

Boy do I feel dumb. I tried the headphones in my desktop computer at home & could hear out of the left ear very faintly. The right side was ok. Then I tried another set of the plastic ear pieces that comes with the headphones & it worked. I think maybe the other ones are just dirty. That's why I feel so dumb. I can't believe I didn't try that before. Now they sound like they are supposed to.

Geez, your ear must produce a ton of earwax!! Well, at least, thru all this you got a new pair of Klipsch! :)

Ok, just ordered Klipsch X7i from an authorized dealer. I should be getting them within the next week or two. I got them for $140 with free shipping. The X7i is supposed to be more balanced (less warm/bassy) than S4i. There is no Android version...so, i will be using the Apple version on my Note 2. Hopefully, it will be a good thing....

UPDATE: i canceled the order because i am going to try the Apple Earpods with EarSkinz 2 modification.

I just bought the S4A (II) , and the sound is very good, I am happy with that part, but the controls are all jacked up. Volume does not work (launches Voice Control instead), double click is set to next track..and it works, but it automatically calls last number in my call history at the same time! Very annoying.
Also, some people recommended to get the Apple version instead in order to get the volume buttons...dont do it. My wife and I bought the S4A at the same time (one apple, for her, and one android for me) and I tried hers on my phone. Volume control does not work. The volume buttons simply do nothing.

Anyway, my question is, is there a way to disable the double click triggering calling my last dialed number? Is there a way to disable long hold triggering voice activation?

I am running HTC EVO 4G LTE, rooted, running mean rom.

There has got to be a way, right? :(

As I mentioned before, Volume will NOT work :( Android changed that control after 4.x. For double-/triple- click control, use JAYS free up and configure it the way you like it. Now, here is a hint - fine tune the timing between clicking, making a bit longer. This way there are no "misunderstanding" from a phone registering these multi-clicks. See if that helps.

There is another app being mentioned in these forums called headset button. Which is better to use? That one or the jays? I have the klipsch s4a (II) ear buds, android version. So so far I have downloaded the klipsch control app and the headset button app, of you think I should I'll give jays app a try.
Just to be clear you ARE saying that even after doing the key remapping trick voice control is still being activated. Correct? There is no way at all to fix this?

Long hold button will trigger Google Now, that is default. Sorry, I'm not next to my headphones to test it out. Doesn't matter which one, apple or android - single multifunction button will work the same on any set of headphones with galaxy phones. Volume will never work, single press is play/pause for audio and video and also to answer and hang up the call, double click skips to the next track, and long press activates Google Now where you speak your commands to dial a number, etc. Don't bother with Klipsch app, its the same as any other app. I like JAYS a lot better. Another similar one is MAVEN 3D which also included EQ and other stuff.

Try it out and see if you can re-map functionality.
