[ROM][BETA] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Lucid

I am new to the thread. I mod all my android devices. I was reading some posts on improving battery life. My lucid drains 10% every 5 to 10 minutes. Which ROM should I use? Also, is this something that will improve over time? I have my CPU max at 1188 and governor at conservative.

I think this rom is great and hope to see it improve.

GREAT WORK!!!

Thank you for the ROM.:)

My phone reboots on GPS usually. It usually waits until I'm 5 miles away and turns off lol.
My lucid would reboot about every 10 minutes when using gps with waze and google maps on cyanogen mod 10.....however It seems that after I installed the app called seeder from the google play store and put it on aggressive setting the gps reboots immediately stopped. I'm not sure if this somehow cured the gps reboot issue but I can honestly say it has not happened once since. Hope this helps some of you to?

I used a friend's micro sd card to flash CM10. But I'm having a few issues. When I go to phone info, it doesn't know my number. When I try to take a picture, it says that I need to insert an SD card. I can't get Apollo to find my music on the internal SD card, though it will play one song at a time if I select it from the file manager.
One other thing I was wondering is, what replaces the play store?

Thanks in advance.

I also can't download files from the browser, but that seems like part of an already mentioned issue

This version of CM10 was ported from the LG Spectrum which did not have internal memory. Therefore, several of the ROM applications are expecting an SD card at all times. Camera, Apollo, and the Browser all use the SD card for storage. The Play store is not installed by default and can be installed using the "Google Apps" link in the first post.

"My phone number" may not be displayed. This is a cosmetic issue and the phone application still appears to work properly for sending and receiving calls or text messages.

If you are using GPS with Google Maps, the Maps application may be triggering the known problem with the GL display drivers that causes reboots. I do not believe that random reboots are caused by heat since the phone would then stay off or boot loop until it cooled down. If you have a persistent rebooting problem that can be tracked down to a particular set of actions, a log would be tremendously helpful to tracking down the problem.

That's exactly it, I use Google Maps exclusively.

Stcarlso, thanks so much for all your work.

However, this morning at 3 am, I ordered an iPhone 5s. I have enjoyed time with my Lucid, but I'm ready for my iPhone. I've missed iOS since I lost my iPod Touch. Good luck in your work and maybe I'll swing back by to see what is going on around here. Again, thank you so much for all your work man. I know I really have appreciated having the ability to mess with at least one ROM on my phone.

I noticed that my battery drain is caused by the cell radio. The battery life is good when the phone is a sleep but when in use it drains fast. I hope that feed back can help with improving battery life.

How many bars of service is the phone reporting? If the signal is low, the battery will drain more quickly, but I have never seen 10% per few minutes as you said earlier. It is possible that a misbehaving application is preventing the cell radio from sleeping. What does the Battery life screen (Settings > Battery) show as the culprit?

On the stock GB I get 2 bars. In CM10 I get 1 bar. With the B2 kernel, the battery drops from 100% to 90% with in 30 to 45 minutes. That is with the phone asleep. If in use, more like 15 to 30 minutes. If I use the phone in air plane mode, like listen to music, there is a small decline in the number of %s droped per 5 to 10 minutes. I also have LTE and 3G turned off. GPS has been working fine for me, but also is killing the battery very fast. I walk one mile around the block with it navigating me around, and the battery life drops 30%. yesterday, I let it die all the way. as I kept an eye on the battery, The battery life would go up a bit while it slept. In the battery usage, I saw media service using battery while sleeping. I will try to give more feedback on this as I gather the information.

I also do not want to forget to say that when the battery life is below 80 or so %, the drain slows down while the phone is asleep.

I also have to change the mobile network to LTE/CDMA/EVDO to improve signal strength. If I turn off LTE, it canges the mobile network back to auto. Once turned back on it goes back to LTE/CDMA and I do not get my 4G connection. I always have to turn mobile network back to LTE/CDMA/EVDO. I am going to rechage the phone back to 100 % and play around with it a bit more. I will post what I find.

Is the kernel responsible for the cell radio? My mom has one of those Verizon repeater boxes at her house. with stock, I get full bars. With CM10, I get 3 bars if I am lucky. I can't speak for others, yet however, something seems off with the way the ROM is working with the cell radio. This phone was not know for great battery life with stock, yet it should not drop 1% every 2 minutes. if I could make a suggestion, look in to the firmware/drivers transposable for the cell radio. I can't say for sure there is a problem there, but it is a place worth looking into. As for the battery drain it self, the phone is a year old. I am thinking about replacing the battery anyway.

I flashed B3 and replaced boot.img with the one from B2. Mediaserver is the only app I am concerned about. Any other suggestions, let me know

Have you tried the Baseband-Lucid-V8.zip? You can find it in my Lucid Repository.

it fixed a few things with the way the phone displays cell information. I have not noticed a difference really with the signal strength. If you do not mind me asking, what kind of battery life are you getting while using the phone and while it is asleep? Also, are you getting a good signal. I get -112dbn 28asu for signal which looks normal for where I live. I will keep an eye on it and fallow up if I see improvements in other locations. after flashing the baseband, I saw this media thing pop up under systemsettings>battery. I tried the wiping battery stats method and the battery still drains very fast at first, and then slows down after dropping into the 70-80% range.

Where did she get a verizon repeater? My family legitimately needs one, but I thought they didn't exist.

I am not sure. I know you can find the extender/repeater boxes on Amazon. search for Verizon extender.

Cool will do thanks.

Could someone post a link to the ZV9 update CAB when it is available? I can build a CM10 with new RIL and possibly alleviate some of the battery and signal issues.

My laptop have virus:/ , you need to flash zv8 and use Verizon software upgrade assistant , to install it just connect your phone to the pc and it will ask if you want to install it , it saves the zv9 cab in the computer after upgrade
