One difficulty I am having with the su and superuser install from the recovery image is that busybox says it can't find the su binary and won't install. When I try to update the su binary through superuser, it asks for root and I click "allow", but it says "fail" under gaining root access. Any idea on what might be the issue?
More info: whenever I manually push an su binary to /system/bin it shows up as "legacy" and the updater won't update it. (This appears to have been a permissions issue, when I use busybox to chmod to 06755 it shows properly. Still failing to get root though)
This is from a fresh factory reset, Build C771M130
Edit: also, in the adb shell, I can't run any commands. I can push things to system/bin just fine, but when I go into adb shell and run ls or cd or chmod I get "ls: not found".
Continuing update: Got busybox to work by using adb shell when in the recovery menu, pushing to /system/bin and changing permissions to 777. Still can't get superuser to update or give proper root.
