Root Any ROMs in the pipeline?

Just ordered my MAXX, and then realized there are no ROMs available. Should we expect ROMs any time soon? Or should I assume I will be on stock for the foreseeable future?

We have root but not unlocked bootloader so to my understanding we can not ROM. I can't imagine that we will have unlocked bootloader on this device. Maybe bootstrap will work eventually, but for now it's stock. Not a bad experience though, it's pretty close to a pure Android experience.

The dev edition can be unlocked, so that's probably not the reason.

My Droid 3 was bootloader locked (and there was never a dev edition) and there were ROMs. The same for the Bionic. It's early days yet. Safestrap is still alpha (for the Moto X, for that matter). As Cincybearcatfan notes, the phone is very close to stock anyway, so there's little benefit (besides perhaps deodexing for theming) to ROM development. When KitKat is released, perhaps that will change.

Maybe not, though.

Coming from a Galaxy Nexus, this will be an adjustment. There are features in the ROM i'm currently using that I KNOW I will miss (custom quick setting toggles, lockscreen shortcuts, long press lock icon for torch, ribbons, halo... stuff like that).

I really don't care THAT much about an unlocked bootloader. As I understand, the only thing you CAN'T do with a locked bootloader is flash kernals, which means you can't run a version of android higher than what has been released? I had a Droid 2 that was bootstrapped, and I was OK with that. I just got nervous when I saw people weren't even TALKING about ROMs yet. I will be patient, I'm just hoping someone comes up with a solution.

Anyways, I'm excited about the battery life, and that will offset my missing features for a little while!
