All Droids Receiving a Price Cut!

Just read on DroidLife, all the Droids have had a price cut. The on contract prices are $200 for Maxx, $100 for Ultra, & $50 for Mini. The off contract prices are $500 for the Maxx, $450 for the Ultra, & $400 for the Mini.

I called in and Verizon has something called Price Protection, which means they'll price match if the device's price goes down after your purchase. I got $150 off my next bill, so call in and see if you can get it as well.

Verizon must be trying to stunt the moto X sales and push the droids.

I thought the MAXX was a no-brainer at 299. At 199 the moto X becomes irrelevant to me, unless you just REALLY dig that design and despise capacitive buttons

I actually really liked the design of the X, but when the MAXX dropped in price, it definitely became a no-brainer - especially with $100 back from Comcast on top of the price drop, and the extra battery and storage. I ordered it last night...eagerly waiting until Tuesday.

Ugh.. Went to get the price adjusted.. apparently I have to return/exchange to get the lower price.. wish they would have told me that when I called and was told I had to go in. I have to go today as it is the end of my 14 day window

That's BS. They can credit the difference as long as you are in that 14 day window. No need for all that.

You are right and I agree...

So, When I bought this phone, I did nto want to be stucj for 2 years, I also did not have the full amount extra cash to buy it out right, I decided to go on the Edge program..

Anyway, because this program is new there are 'issues' with getting a price change (not that it cannot be done) but there is a bit of a learning curve for the stores etc.

The store I went to and originally bought the phone from was close to where I am working, I SHOULD have gone to the store closer to home (both corporate). The one I bought the phone from was complete clueless, 3 managers could not figure out how to make the price change, so they said I had to exchange the device.. ok fine, I left came back to work, transferred my stuff off the phone onto my pc.. went back after work to find out they had no phones.. When I left to go to another store they called to confirm had the phone, I called and told the CSR on the phone that that store was useless, not sure it helps but I felt better.

Store #2, walked in talked to the manager. She said she was NOT replacing my phone and that it was possible to do a price adjustment but bear with her as this is the first time they had done it for someone on EDGE.. well apparently now it is a computer system issue, it was taking $50 off but on the $150 and their PC support had left for the day at this time, so I will call her this afternoon and see what the status is.

It is amazing the night and day differences in store only a few miles apart..

So I have not gotten the complete credit, but I have partial and it is process and the store seems like they want to make it right, st I know where to go now and where to stay away from.

so DO NOT EVER go tot VERIZON WIRELESS in ADDISON IL.. the store in Bloomingdale know what they are doing :)

I just ordered the Droid Maxx from Wirefly (Yes, I know the issues with them) for $99. I was all set to order it from Verizon or Amazon when I checked Wirefly and it was selling for $99. As Mahers said when it dropped from $299 to $199 it was no brainer. So I ordered it to replace my rapidly aging Droid Charge.

I have ordered from them before and didn't have an issue. In fact, I was told step by step instruction on how to do something by one of their reps on here via Private Message. It was a long time ago and all that's long gone, but I would order from them again if the opportunity made sense (Not in the case of the Maxx, however as I was swapping upgrades to keep my unlimited and they don't allow that).

Good luck with the new phone. You will enjoy the heck out of it!

That's bull crap. You shouldn't have to return. Then you'll have a restocking fee. Keep calling cs.

They worked it out and I settled for an adjustment.. apparently it would only deduct $50, not $150, I got a bill credit of $100 on top of the $50 credit so end of the day it is the same ( although my monthly payment for EDGE is a couple $ more

End of the day I got it for the price I expected even if it was a bill credit for the last $100, it sounded like an issue with their computer system.. the Manager I was working with at a competent store kept working at it for a week then we worked out the adjustment

I also found to the incompetent CS at the other store never changed my data plan as I had asked

I was well out of the 14 days, but ended up getting the difference back from Discover as part of their price guarantee. I just made sure to document that the $299 that I paid was on a 2 year contract and that the price report I submitted showing it at $199 was also for a 2 year contract. A couple weeks later, I opened my mail and found a check from Discover for $100! Can't complain about that :)

Nice! I didn't even know discover did that. Time to make all future electronic purchases on discover.
