Verizon - Samsung updated my S4, what's new in the 4.2.2 update?

When I plugged my phone into the USB cable to my PC the Samsung software update checker found an unpdate to install so I let it.

Does anyone know what is different with 4.2.2 versus what was previous?

The onscreen app didn't give any information so I am curious.

It took about 15 to 20 minutes to do the update.

I think I found blocking mode with the new update (I'm on stock non-rooted Verizon). I just used quickshortcutmaker to find it. Can anyone else confirm?

I was able to enable it and now I see the icon in the notification bar. The only annoying thing is that the icon stays there at all times even if you only have it enabled between certain hours. That could be a deal breaker for me for normal use. The notification bar is too filled up with useless icons to begin with. Darn!

Yeah I guess blocking was added.

But guess what else seems to be blocked???
FoxFi wireless tethering!
I just tried to use it and I keep getting the mobile hotspot pop up telling me to go subscribe. :-(

I haven't bothered to root my last few phones because FoxFi allowed me to tether without rooting and that was the only reason for me to.

Hopefully FoxFi gets an update to fix that.

Try pressing the Home button instead of acknowledging the pop-up.

I just click on go to Verizon which opens the app and then I close the app.

It's been buggy but FoxFi is still working. Whew!

I need FoxFi so I can use my Surface Tablet with my internet connection.

I wonder if I could set up Blutooth DUN as an alternative?

Is there any way of canceling the update? It apparently already downloaded onto my phone last night but at least gave me the option of not installing it right away. It's sitting my task bar and won't go away. The last time I updated, I lost the ability to use PDAnet for a while and thus do not want the same thing to happen again.

I would like to know this too, since I absolutely do not want to be stuck with the new version of Google Maps.

I am stuck with the new version :(

Wish I would have known this before I updated.

Hey, I don't feel much better. I only bought a phone about six months ago and now I'm already stuck on the OS. No Bluetooth 4.0 for me. No Kit Kat. All because Google converted their killer app into a large stinky PoS!

I think I'm going to have to bit the bullet and buy the TomTom app to see if that is decent. None of the other GPS products are.

I bought the copilot app because it was cheap and not bad to use.
