if you're rooted.. get Fresh 2.0d or Damage Control 2.0.7.
put the zip file in the root of teh SD card. boot into recovery. wipe data/factory reset and wipe davlik. then flash the zip

The concept for flashing a ROM is the same as described. Make sure you specifically read about each ROM before flashing it though, as the DEV may include directions (such as making sure to wipe [also in the guide]).

I made a guide....for the noob. if it worked for me it can work for YOU...The other guides are confusing and scattered.

Noob guide for installing 2.1

he has already rooted teh phone.. no need to root it all over again..

copy Fresh 2.0d (or what ever flavor of 2.1 you want as long as it's made for CDMA Hero) to the root of the SD card.

reboot phone while holding HOME. you will be in a green and black menu (recovery menu) make sure to make a nand backup. then select wip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe davlik
from main recovery menu select flash file from SD
select the ROM (fresh2.0d for example) hit home when prompted.

the phone will reboot it does take time for the first boot since it has to rebuild the davlik cache (10+ minutes is not uncommon)
