My MMS question is this. Is it that web based "picture mail' or is it real life MMS? Oh, and does the Hero support MMS pics that move? Animated GIFs and what not?

I've heard the Pre doesnt, and you cant even forward texts on it.

With the Tour it's true MMS so I would think it would be the same on the Hero.

Animated GIFs I don't know that answer.

most of the newer phones its embedded into the message such as the tour and the pre

as far as the hero i am not sure i can find out though but i wont know til tomorrow and you guys will have your phone by then

Since the OS can boot a computer and its Linux based I would think it would, but I guess we shall find out tomorrow for sure.

I can live with it not doing it, but it'll be an annoying quirk. Some MMS pics just arent funny if they dont move.

Battery life is really not that good...gotta turn off GPS, etc....

Your batteries will suck big time when you first get the phones. This has more to do with you not leaving the damn thing alone, rather than a battery that's not up to the job.

My Hero has a much better battery than my 3g iPhone, but not *quite* as good as my curve - but then the curve is only 2g, and is so boring to use that there's nothing to do on it to wear the battery down!

I don't get this guy complaining the buttons are too bright while watching a video etc, wouldn't they turn off automatically? In a few seconds?


No saving images from the web?!?! My bloody curve can even do that! - I hope he is wrong about the browser being sluggish, that my friends is a deal breaker!! -

The browser on my curve was god-awful, and the trackball was so flaky it was always a bit hit and miss when it came to clicking links......

Opera Mini does wonders on the Curve, track ball is easy replaced. Isn't the Hero running opera as well??? Please don't let it be crap!!!

Best bet is to try one first - simple.

If it's not up to scratch for you, then you can stick with the blackberry. I have a feeling you'll be complaining about something on crackberry.com in no time - you seem the "glass half empty" type.
