I, obviously, pre-ordered the DI and I'm trying to get everything in my Gmail ready so that when I get the phone I can streamline the whole setup process.

What's the best way to combine contact info from My Verizon/Backup Assistant and contacts in Gmail? Should I start manually combining names, numbers, addresses, and emails in My Verizon? Is Gmail better at syncing and management or can all this be done in the phone with People?

What about groups? Will those translate if I set up groups in Gmail and/or My Verizon?

Dude, I just had the same exact issue. You can get on My Verizon and go to your contacts. You can export a CSV (outlook) file to your desktop. Then in gmail you can upload/import this CSV file and it will add everyone in your contacts on your phone into your gmail. Weird, I just did this like 4 hours ago.

This was very helpful. Thanks!! :D

BTW, on My Verizon, when exporting contacts, it offers two formats: CSV (Outlook) and CSV (Backup Assistant). Which format is Gmail most compatible with? (i.e. which will sync perfectly with an Android phone?)

This doesn't make sense. The site doesn't open contacts without Flash enabled.

You're both right, lol.

I opened up 32 bit Internet Explorer and got it working. I had tried it on Firefox and 64 bit IE and neither of those worked.

I cant wait to have all of my Google contacts on my phone. I'm just excited about having pictures for all of them...and being able to do it all through my web browser and have my phone pick them all up once I get the Incredible.

anyone look at the HTC feature called HTC sync for outlook. However I will be moving toward wireless sync through gmail and i will give companionlink i try( free 14 day trial)

Please let us know how that works. Looks like they have ther own apps that run on android so you can keep you data on the pc an phone without puting it on google's cloud. Also does tasks and memos.
