Help new firmware from samsung new pc studio

i think o2 uk must be using different software code to o2 germany.
there doesnt seem to be a way to revert to the h6 code or CSC that was on the uk handhelds as everyone lists VIA as o2 and forgets that VIA is germany and not UK.

this will cause issues for when the nps update is fixed also as it will keep installing the VIA code and not the UK

is there anyone that has the UK h6/g6 code and CSC?
im regretting doing this flash now, market is messed up and by the looks of it so will be the future updates unless people start listing the o2 uk csc's

I'm back! So can someone tell me in a short post what's changed since I been away?

Whats the latest firmware now (I5 ?) - are there odin files for it, or can you update through NPS now? Is the firmware file from NPS available somewhere, then I could make odin files if we dont have them already.

Any big changes in new firmware?

(I know i should probably search but there's so many posts now, and i'd rather get to the point quickly and get on with doing something usefull)

Hmm I think about 5 or 10 minutes. If its still going after 30 minutes there's definatly something wrong. Is anything displayed on the phone?

The NPS update doesnt flash the bootloader afaik so its _probably_ not likely to brick. Be safe and wait a while before doing anything drastic like stopping the update.

After speaking to Samsung support, apparently a download will be made available in the coming weeks (before end of Oct), which will enable the Galaxy handset to be updated to the lastest firmware.

Following this update the handset will be recognised by NPS.

Any further updates will then be made via NPS.

Lets hope this is all true.

keep a check on the samsung website.

Case 1 - NPS doesnt work for syncing the samsung galaxy :( Export your outlook contacts to a csv, import them into gmail, and then sync to gmail on the phone.

Case 2 - You need to use DOWNLOAD mode, not recovery mode.

Volume down + OK + End call/Power

Its easy to get confused, OK means the OK button in the middle of the D-pad, and not the 'call' button. Pressing the call button instead takes you into recovery and not download mode.

Case 3 - Try updating the firmware and if it still doesnt work post again :)

Uff, thank U very much Kam. I thinked my phone was dead.

Now I have installed G8 version (I had originaly G9) but NPS say the same message "unsorported device". I'm using 1.3.0.IH4 and I don't know if this 2 last letters H4 have relation with G8

Anyway, I'd like to update to the most recient version (if possible) or another more recient version. When I tried H7 (from G9) I was using the files you indicated in your link but it did't work

is it possible because I was tried from G9? could I tried now from G8? I prefer wait your answer cos I had a lot of "emotions" in a day about this point

Thank U again
