Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Oh one more thing. I flashed the Zeus kernel over MOAR ROM earlier and found one bug. After flashing went well and checked my speed i watched some movies on my phone using MX Player Pro. And all the movies i watched were upsidedown i think the gyro was out of wack, rebooted and tried again same thing so i went back and restored my backup.

I flashed the collective rom and it is the best 4.3 I have tried. No issues so far and has lots of options.

Man, he released a new version day before yesterday and I had all kinds of problems with it. The version before it was butter. That's the reason I added it to this thread. Had to yank the link down because another member was having issues. Upon further inspection, I found out why. He had updated the ROM and the script I had posted wouldn't work. I worked with that new version for a good while last night. Even tried a 2nd download to see if it would fix the problems. Didn't happen so I removed it from the thread for now.

I've posted a tutorial on how to change the updater-script in the Vanilla Root Box part. If people running the Boost baseband want to try the Collective, they can use it and learn how to edit their script if they don't know how to do so already. Once he updates a few times, I'll try it again and possibly add it back here. I'm not gonna post a ROM in here that I can't run. I try to test at least 99% of what's in here.

You think the Collective is nice, try Dirty Unicorns bro. This baby is smoother than butter. I just set up PIE and have been messing with the Paranoid Android like hybrid settings. Don't let the looks when you 1st flash it fool you. This baby's got all kinds of options. Flashed the AOSP 4.2 KToonsez Kernel too. ;) It was fast to begin with. Now it's even FA:vroam:STER!

I've always been a CyanogenMod/ AOKP Kinda guy anyways. Hell, I'm happier than a pig in mud right now.

After fighting with the Collective for awhile, it sure was nice to try my 1st AOKP ROM on my GS3 and find it runs like a CHAMP! Happy happy happy! :p:D

:rock:CAN I GET HELL YES?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is any ROM related problem, but I previously turned my voicemail off by calling Boost. It's been off for a while now because i don't really need it. I have the MOAR ROM running right now and went ahead and called Boost again to turn it back on because i might receive some job related voicemails. Anyway after calling them up and saying that they turned it back on i rebooted the phone and tested it. It says:

Im sorry the number XXX-XXX-XXXX is not a valid voicemal box. Error XXXX-XXXX-1003 or something. Then drops the call.

I did a PRL and Profile Update and no go. Anybody have this issue too?

Try doing a hands free activation from settings.... I think it is from flashing a sprint ROM, I had a similar issue.

lol no doubt. I dig that wallpaper. I've tried quite a few of the themes too and they have all worked well. :D

I'm waiting on a custom kernel that'll work :D. CM made some driver changes and none of the 4.3 kernels I've tried will work. They'll all boot but I end up with severe color distortion. Others running the ROM report the same. The stock kernel works well but I want one with more gov and I/O options. :D

i'M TRYING TO CHANGE THE UPDATER SCRIPT FOR THE DIRTY UNICORNS ZIP. i INSTALLED NOTEPAD++ AND i OPEN THE SCRIPT WITH NOTEPAD++ BUT IT WONT LET ME EDIT ANYTHING AT ALL, PLEASE HELP.

I had to take read only off. Changed the baseband but now I cant get it to stick, it doesnt ask me to save the script or to archive?? Help.

Is this what your baseband is showing "L710VPAMG2" in your phone settings?

If so, lemme know right quick & I'll hook you up with a lil something I've got ready.

NEVERMIND, I JUST SENT YOU A PM WITH A LINK

If you're running the "L710VPAMG2" baseband you can flash the ROM in the link I just sent you. Check your PM inbox.

Thanks for the link and zip, I downloaded it just now and am flashing it. BTW, I do have the same baseband so it should work.

Dirty unicorns is working excellent so far, no issues. I do have a couple questions though. Is there a APP Bar setting?? When I was on the collective that was in the settings and I really liked that. Also, what are pie settings?? I dont really want to monkey with something I don't know what it is, that is why I am asking first.

Google is your friend. You can get all the info you need from there. Probably explained a lot better than I could too.

These are just a few links that I found. Please note that some features will work and others will not. The best thing to do is make a Nandroid backup with TWRP preferably. CWM if that's what you are using. Then get in there and start trying out your features after reading and watching some of these videos. It can get confusing at 1st so don't try to learn it all at once. If you get to a point where you can't fix what you've done or can't remember how to reverse a change you've made, use your your recovery and restore your backup. That way you can start fresh with a clean slate. ;)

Trust me, it's a lot to figure out. These videos will give you an idea of some of the features you now have at your finger tips. :D

This ROM has a lot more to it than just PIE and HALO to bro.

I also recommend flashing the 8/31/13 build of the KToonsez kernel. It really gives you phone a nice boost even without selecting the overclock options. Most of the time I run mine w/o being overclocked. I just adjust the I/O and Gov.

The link to the kernel contains several builds. I will send you a PM with the exact kernel you need. Just flash it in recovery and let it boot up completely. The kernel zip contains the KTweaker app to mange your new kernel settings. Here is a link to a thread for specifically for the KToonsez kernel. Just make sure you are reading the info for the AOSP version and not Touchwiz. ;)

KToonsez kernel discussion thread- [Team Kernelizers][How To][SPR][TK MOD 1.0.4]KT747 Kernel Tweaks-Updated 5-14-13 - xda-developers

Check your PM inbox for the link to the kernel. Trust me, it makes a big difference. Especially if you decide to run the CM10/AOKP themes. :D

Figured this should be in here anyway so u don't end up having to answer twice. This is what I was asking about biker. What are these:View attachment 63654 and how do I change them if that's possible been thru every setting. This is on the Dirty Unicorn rom.

Ok, I see what you are talking about now. It looks like they are just shortcuts. You can tap them and they'll open that app.

As for why they are there, I'm thinking they are just shortcuts added to the recent apps screen for convenience. They may can even be changed.

Since this has just been brought to my attention, I'll work on it and see what I can figure out. I'm glad you said something about it because I never would have even noticed it. I never use the recent apps. :)

One thing is for sure, it's not a bug. Those are there for a reason. Every single one of the icons I tapped took me to it's app. ;)

Yeah they work just figured if anyone knew how to change them it'd be you!

edit: nice wallpaper I found:black or dark colored wallpapers help cut back on battery use with these amoled screens
____________________________________________________

Yes they do. I read that a little while back about the darker wallpapers helping with battery life. Neat huh? I use dark colored wallpapers a good bit of the time. :)

As for those icons, it looks like they may be permanent. I did find a few things that can be added to the recent app screen though. Go to settings/ROM Control/ General UI/ scroll down to the Recents section. There are 3 options there. You have a Kill All which allows you to place a tab on either of the 4 corners of the recents screen. This tab allows you to kill all the apps on the recents screen. It also has a Style choice. You can choose modified or stock. I like the modified look myself. Then there is a Recents RAM bar. It will enable a RAM usage bar at the top of the Recents screen which is pretty cool if you are wondering how much RAM you are using.

Nothing about modifying or removing those icons you're talking about though. :/ Maybe that'll be added to the next version. :)
