[Unofficial] MetroPCS S4 Root Information Thread

Attention
I've created this guide for our (MetroPCS) Samsung Galaxy S4: All Things Root sub-forum, I'll need your help to populate it and keep it organized with the best and most relevant information.
Please contact me (by PM) or post to this thread if you have any good information to contribute, update, or correct in the guide. I will update and add to it as I can.
Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Attention
You are ultimately responsible for any root-related activities on your phone.
You should understand not only the benefits of rooting, but also any possible consequences (voided warranty, boot-loops, bricking, etc.) that might occur as a result of your root-related actions.
AndroidForums.com/Phandroid.com, its owner, and staff are not liable for any root actions you might undertake as a result of information used from this site.
Reading, researching, understanding, asking questions when necessary and carefully following the published steps and instructions can go a long way towards helping to make your rooting efforts a successful one.

!!Important: Before you Update to 4.3!!
Huge Thanks to Shabbypenguin for this important information!!!

you wont be able to use odin to flash back to 4.2 if you do the 4.3 update, samsung has started blocking downgrading via odin. so unless you guys make a odin tar per newer firmware if you mess something up you wont be able to odin back to safety. :/

the new 4.3 bootloaders lock things down a bit, you can still root so no worries there just it blows a qfuse and anyone who looks in download mode will know you rooted. there will be no triangle away to cover it up or anything.
once you flash that bootloader another qfuse is blown in that you cant downgrade, you can flash 4.3 odin tar all day long but cant go to 4.2 bootloaders. you can however stay on 4.2 and flash a rom from 4.3.someone who updates, doesnt care for warranty etc can just do teh ota and root and then dump all the files needed for everyone else to update :).
just wanted to clear some things up before ota hits and some people find themselves in a pickle.

Check out the 4.3 update? thread for more information
