Question : does this happen on wifi /cellular?

First time I've used the fm app on this device and I've had this phone sibc the launch.

It's been playing close to half an hour and no force closes as yet.

I'm sprint, stock, non rooted running 4.3 currently on wifi and 4.3

EDIT: played a solid hour, changing stations and no FC or BT errors...

Just update last night.
Camera dark/red problem not solved.

I have a feeling that the signal strength is low, as mentioned by some of the US 4.3 update.
It is ~-100dBm.

I'm running the ARHD rom and ever since I've done the "upgrade," the LTE signal has dropped dramatically. My job is right next to a tower and prior to the update, I had full LTE signal and it would rarely ever drop a single bar. But now... I have one bar. That's it.
Any fixes for this? I see that many others are having a similar issue after upgrading.

Are you having any actual slowdowns? Have you noticed any signal issues besides the bar count being lower? Run a speed test and see what results you get. Check the dBm signal strength. Do you get any dropped calls? The more info you provide the more likely someone will be able to help.

No dropped calls or lower call quality, and it looks and feels to be the same speed (a bit faster really)

Signal strength
RSRP(dBm) : -107 RSRQ(dB) : -12
it dabbles anywhere from 106 to 108 just sitting on my desk at work

another issue is that it switches haphazardly between HSPA Edge 3g and LTE whereas before the update it rarely left LTE

Echoing others' concerns in regards to bluetooth.. For me, if I answer a call with my BT headset it answers but then switches to phone audio (nothing coming thru on headset). Then if I make a call with the headset in I get to hear one ring and then it switches to phone audio. In both cases the phone still shows the Bluetooth icon in-call.

For A2DP, I've always had the crackling problem but it is much worse now than before

Anyone else?

Dude, screw these "two years of (insert cloud storage here) for buying our phone)" business. You lose all your files at the end if you don't back them up somewhere else, and an update to 5.5 won't get you Google drive, you are stuck with Dropbox until you buy a new phone. Use Copy, 5 gigs for starters, then another 5 gigs for referring people (they also get 5 gigs) here's my referal link, I'd appreciate it if you would follow it to sign up (if you so choose) https://copy.com?r=B8rTHU

Otherwise, just go to www.copy.com it works identical to Dropbox with auto upload and such, but you get more, permanent, storage that will follow you from phone to phone. 4 referrals and you are at 25 gigs, exactly what we all got on Dropbox with the phone. Just sayin' !

no true,

What happens to my files on Drive after the offer ends?

  • All of your files will remain in Drive and you can access, download, or share them whenever you want. You won’t be able to add additional files if over quota unless you buy more storage at https://www.google.com/settings/storage.

not that spreading FUD isn't a fun past time on the internet...

Okay guys i need some help. I am on AT&T network in the US. I updated to 4.3 right after it came out ( first of the month ? ) Ever since then I have had 2 issues ( that I have found ) both pertainging to texting.

1) When I send or am about to recieve a text, a green or orange, or green and orange symbol ( not sure what it is ) flashes up on my notification bar, just briefly, so fast I cant even get a screen shot of what it is, but my friend who also has AT&T and also updated, his phone does not do this flash thing when sending or recieveing texts. Anyone know what it is, or what app bloatware AT&T installed.

2) Also after the update some texts do not send, they have the little clock/note thing next to them and wont send, until I restart my phone, then it sends whatever text right away. I can be texting back and forth and 1 lone message does not go through but other do. Anyone else having issues with that?

I did have an issue with my battery when I first did the update. I emailed HTC and they claimed they were not aware of the issue, but seeing many posts about it. I turned off the percentage use and it actually seems to help, or I dont notice it draining so quick. I have my settings on the lowest possible brightness, dont leave bluetooth or wifi on when I dont need it, not sure what the issue was but HTC was really no help.

For the first issue, not really sure. The only thing I can think of would be, the Beats logo that pops up. I haven't noticed it on mine, but maybe that is what is flashing up there. Except there shouldn't be any green in it, just red. Whenever audio comes out of the speakers, it lights up. I don't recall ever seeing it with text notifications though. Do you use the stock messaging app, or something like Handcent?

Also not sure about the sending. I mean, I have had that happen on Sprint, both with my HTC One and my old Evo3D. Usually it was just once in a while, and generally happened if I was in a poor connection area.

Your last issue may be nothing more than a placebo. The batter indicator has always shown the battery to have more power than it actually has, if you pay attention to the percentage in relation to the indicator you can see how skewed it is. The signal was another thing people thought had gotten worse, what really happened was that the signal indicator after the update shows a more realistic signal level. For me the battery life has actually improved considerably.

...
I upgraded to 4.3 yesterday and now I am missing my image icons in the stock message app. Anyone fix this yet.

Many thanks

Also having this issue...

My Stock Messaging App loses my Contacts' pictures every time a new text comes in. The pictures are all coming over from Facebook but changing them to Google does not fix the behavior. Eventually they all return but sometimes I have to force it by opening the contact, clicking on edit, then clicking on the person's photo and re-selecting the source that I am pulling the picture from. Very annoying.

Well I did a hard reset this afternoon and I still have the issue of my contact photos not always showing up in the text messages. Does anyone know if a fix is being worked on for some of these issues?

I recommend sending a trouble ticket to HTC.

HTC do not monitor this thread and if we all want things done, is best to speak loudly to HTC.

Contact Us

It's a known issue and has been for a few weeks now.

No idea if anyone is looking at it, I'm sure HTC know about it and are working on a fix though.

I have submitted a ticket to HTC on this and encourage anyone else having the problem to do the same.

Yup the contact picture missing annoys me to no end. It seems to happen less when I am on 3g or 4g. I have opened a support ticket with HTC about as have several other but please do so as well. I bet if we annoy them enough they will fix it.

UPDATE: FYI I just received this email from HTC regarding the Contact Photo issue

"[FONT=&quot]thanks to the information you have sent to me. Now that we have all the necessary information, we will go ahead and escalate this issue so it can be review internally by our escalation department and a solution can be provided to you as soon as possible. I would once again like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience in regards this matter."

I contacted HTC and they sent me the following fix, sorry to say it didn't work for me, let me know if it works for anyone:

First of all, please erase any system errors and delete all temporary files from the cache and RAM by performing a soft reset. Please do the following: press and hold the Power key for a couple of seconds, you will see a small chart with three options; please select “Restart Phone”

Also, I will like to recommend you to perform a wipe cache. This will not remove any personal data on the phone but will delete any temporary files that may be causing an issue, in case of corruption after the update. Make sure that Fastboot is not checked, in order for you to see this information, please go to Settings>Power>Fastboot

To clear the cache partition follow the steps below:

1. Power the phone off.
2. Press and Hold Volume Down then briefly press Power to turn the phone on. Do not release Volume Down until the phone boots a white screen with three images of the Android mascot.
3. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and press Power to select. Screen will load to an image of a red triangle with an exclamation point.
4. Press Volume Up and down and Power at the same time to show the Recovery Menu.
5. Use volume keys to highlight “wipe cache partition” then press Power to select. This may take approximately 30 seconds depending on the amount of information it has to go through.
6. When done, highlight the option to reboot/restart phone and again press Power to select.

Then, I will recommend you to clear the data and cache of the message application. From home screen>settings>apps>all>messages>clear data and clear cache.

Please let me know how did it go. I will be waiting for your response.

Is there any manual way of getting Sense 5.5 on a T-Mobile HTC One? I got the 4.3 update when it came out...but seem to be stuck on 5.0 still. I'm mainly interested in this to remove blink feed. Or are there some good work arounds that will not affect phone performance?

Thanks

Sense 5.5 only comes with 4.4. You could possibly find a hybrid Rom and root your phone, but it looks like 4.4 should arrive in about 3 months.

On the European version of the One we get 5.5 with jb4.3 which is rolling out right now for unbranded handsets, little longer for those of us with the likes of 3.. surely there would be a way you could get it.

just became available for my handset but there was a bugfix update first, wonder if this is because of some issues people have been having with their camera & chargers
