i just got a low disk space notification. I don't have that much apps.

but i haven't really deleted my text messages. I have a thread has 845 text messages. Could that be why??

I notice that my phone is running extremely slow and my battery would die out pretty fast too.

Help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Go to Settings > Sd card & Phone storage. What is the available space listed at the bottom?

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications (wait for everything to load) > Menu > Sort by Size.

More than likely you need to clear the cache on many of your apps. Click on each on of the apps and hit the Clear Cache button to free up the amount of memory listed there. You may need to do this for quite a few of the apps listed.

After you have cleared the cache go back and look at that available space again, has it gone up?

Is there a app that will do this for you? So you dont have to go to each app individually. Its pretty annoying :(

why can't i delete my text message threads. Can't delete the thread that is 832 texts. HELP

Sure you can. Just hold down the thread and click delete.

But before doing this, look for an app in the market called Delet old Messages.

It will delete messages that are over one month old, 2 weeks... whatever you set it to.
That way you dont have to delete entire threads and you have the recent messages.

Edit: When in the thread, hit Menu, then more...
there you will see the option to delete thread

So, what's the difference of "clear data" and "clear cache"?

Good question. I would like to knwo this also.

Clearing cache is like deleting short term memory for the app. In the browser, for example, clearing cache deletes all the stored info from the sites you just visited (not the history itself though), like images, flash, etc. Clearing the Data will delete all the saved info you have. Using the browser as an example again, clearing the data would wipe out your bookmarks, passwords, history, cookies, etc. Pretty much everything. Before anyone decides to clear the data though, there are ways to clear cache, cookies, history, passwords, etc. from inside the browser. Menu > More > Settings

I have about 20 apps installed. My top ten sizes in mbs are
12
11
9
7
5
5
5
5
4
3

And yes, I have the mail app

Well, your top ten items are taking up 61 Mb of space on your phone. That combined with all the other stock stuff is probably the reason you are getting the alert.

What are these apps? Do any of them have cache that you can clear?
