Camara shutter sound able to turn it off?

Some phones, depending on model/carrier, can turn off the sound in the camera settings.

If you are rooted you can delete/rename the shutter click sounds files under system/media/audio/ui.

If you are not rooted you can either mute the phone before entering the camera app (a pain in the butt). Or you can use Tasker to do it for you. You would have to program Tasker to mute the volume whenever you load the camera app. You can get more info on how to do this in the Tasker forum or just search Google as there are many explanations on how to do this.

Or use a different camera app that has a silent shutter feature.

One of our Note 3 users Mr. Clean found an app for that that doesn't require root.

The app uses Tasker to accomplish this by muting the phone while the camera app is open. Sounds like it works well but just be aware that all sound will be muted when the camera app is open so you won't hear the phone ring or get any sound notifications.

On the S4 there is an option in the camera app that you can turn the shutter off.
1. open the camera
2. open the menu (left of the home button)
3. choose settings
4. click the sprocket on the top right
5. scroll to the bottom
6. open the shutter sound option
7. choose off

Most versions of this phone don't have this setting. It varies by location and carrier.
