Has anyone received the kitkat update OTA yet?

I've just flashed the factory image onto my N7 (and N4) using the supplied flash-all.bat script. It all went perfectly, though I'm not sure 4.4 is that big a change on the N7 given that we don't get the new launcher or transparent buttons.

Was wondering this myself. Everywhere I see a rundown of KitKat features, they show a different launcher and interface. Not seeing it here in this update. Anyone have any ideas?

If you've gotten the Google search update it contains the launcher within it

You just need to install a separate home apk for the phone to recognize it.

It will work on 4.1+, no KitKat needed

Its the same apk as the link in the post above mine, but it will work on any device running 4.1+ once it updates Google search from the market. No KitKat required.

In other words, it looks like Google's planning on rolling this out to all devices running jellybean or better.

I have a Nexus 7 (2012) stock and have been checking for an update multiple times a day. I have tried the clear data trick with Google services framework to no avail. So I thought I would start a thread to get an idea of how many, if any, received the kitkat update OTA?

I got tired of waiting and flashed the 4.4 factory image on my '12 N7. I updated Google Now and sideloaded the Google Home apk for the "full" Kit Kat experience. I can't say I see much difference between Jelly Bean and Kit Kat on the surface (other than the launcher), but it seems to run very quick and smooth. I can see where it continues to lay groundwork for some larger changes, possibly going into 5.0.

On a side note, I also sideloaded the Google Home apk on my stock unrooted VZW Note 2, and the launcher runs perfectly. Even running 4.1.2 this is the perfect phone now IMO.

Thank you. Glad it's not just me. Funny thing is that I have not heard any news about the update. It has only been a week, I guess I have been spoiled by the previous timely updates.

I have read there is a problem with 4.4 and Google is fixing it. Whether or not it's a 4.4.1 is not relevant. They don't want to send a bad Kitkat to us. I'm trying to be patient, but damn, I thought I'd see Kitkat by now! Google is taking longer and longer to update these days.....

I guess that I am feeling the same spoiled way. I did get the Nexus 5 to soothe my Android needs. But now I just want the same on my tablet.

Just got the OTA with bug fix (KRT16S) pushed to mine. It's still 4.4 just the build number changed. The old one was (KRT16O).

Same here, I already had 4.4 rooted but it updated anyway ( maybe just the bug fix)....

Just got pinged for the second 4.4 update. Give me a second and I'll manually upload the ota.

Edit: attached to this post in case people want to flash a simple 2mb zip rather than a factory image. Must already be on KRT16O.

I was able to take the OTA update (from previous 4.4) with CWM Recovery and rooted. After I had to re-root and reinstall custom recovery.
