Coming to WaveSecure: Auto Backup!!

I'm not sure how many of you use WaveSecure, but I think it's the most genius app out there (besides Locale!! lol)

Anyways, I was wondering why people were complaining about paying $20 when I didn't. I had to e-mail them and they told me I downloaded during a promotion period where I get a lifetime subscription. Yay. Then they asked me for any suggestions/improvements that they could do for WaveSecure.

Of course, I told them auto backup would make my life a lot easier and here's the response I got!

All other platforms on WaveSecure have the auto backup feature except android. We will be releasing auto backup for android by next week, get the update and try out the auto backup!

Yes, we're finally introducing auto-backup. Took us a while as it was more complex that we thought it would be but we're finally releasing it. It should be on Android Market by end of the day.

I downloaded this app a while back , this app locked up my phone (not freeze) actually locked it so I could not use it for 6 hrs and I tried to log into the website and it tells me I wasnt a member. I eventually got it uninstalled.I also didntlike the fact that if you have any issues like mine then you must call Singapore. uhhhhhhhhh nooo I dont think so ! not going through that again !

Not discounting the problems the previous poster had - but i have installed it and had no problems at all! infact, I put it on my wife's phone - and all the android phones where I work (I'm the Director of IT for a non-profit and Android is the smart phone of choice -as our IT dept defines it. )

Due to the HIPAA requirements, its awesome to know that if a phone gets lost i can wipe everything out!

Upon seeing this thread, I checked Wavesecure in my downloads menu and sure enough it had an update available so I know have autobackup enabled on it. Excellent feature, it will even wait until the phone is on charge to do the backup so it doesn't use the battery . This software has been awesome when updating to 2.1 ROMs so I can restore my SMSs and stuff.

One question about it though; I see it has the option to back up call logs (along with SMS and contacts), but in the restore menu it doesn't list the option to restore call logs, only has SMS and contacts. How can I restore my old call logs?

I too think this is a great App! I downloaded with when it first came out and have been using it every since.

Now with the AutoBackups it just makes life that much easier!

it's amazing how quickly wavesecure responds to positive feedback. what about my locked phone with no pin. where is all your support for that?

I have been using Wave Secure since I first learned of it when the app was first announced. I have never had any of the problems listed above- and for that very reason I use it over all the other apps like it.

The devs have rolled out a US gateway for SMS and it has saved my phone twice already. Once one accident, when I tried a different ROM, an once on purpose, when I temporarily lost my phone.

Great news about them adding Auto backup - finally!

I'd also like to see appended backups - so that things like SMS get appended instead of replaced- handy for those of us that swap out ROMs a lot.

Yes I agree. Often people confuse being polite with being helpful. Wavesecure is definitely polite, they are not helpful when an issue arises. Software of this type, which disables the phone, should have a support line to call if your phone gets bricked. When I called, I got voicemail and the voicemail box was full. Wouldn't allow me to leave a message.

I just posted a message on this thread with a discussion I am having with them. I am happy for those who have no issues with their product. That is a very good thing, for if you do have them, you are in for an interesting experience.

You'll just have to keep an eye on WaveSecure's website. Apparently it was just a promotion period. I wouldn't doubt it if they do it again sometime
