before more than a week i tried to update my note 3 via OTA update
after the process the device stucked on bootloop

i gave it to samsung to fix it because it's part of the warranty
after a few days they called me and told me that the device is rooted.

i know what it is root and i am sure i didn't rooted my note.

they don't listen to me and i am already desperate.

someone told me that maybe the knox thought the failed update as a root attempt

i will be happy to hear an advice or answer to my problem

I fotgot to write
I bought it from samsung

Was it brand new? Something must have tripped the Knox Counter. Or they saw the padlock.

I'm personally in a bad spot, along with other rooters who wanted to stay stock but just remove bloat. Turns out we CAN'T anymore.

In our quest to root without tripping Knox (successful), Sammy and Verizon sent out an OTA that broke root. Now we can't repeat the process because that root exploit is closed. We can't Odin revert to earlier firmware to re-root (or even UN-root) because it will possibly brick the device. We can't even uninstall the impotent SuperSU, that now sits in my app drawer taunting me!

So either way we're screwed: if we try to unroot it will trip Knox. If we try to root it will trip Knox. If something breaks Samsung will see SuperSU and the open padlock sitting there. So guess what, fellow stock rooters?

Like it or not, we're all in at this point. There's no current way to return. Thanks, Samsung.

For the first replay
Only the name of the device were on the bootloop

For the second replay
I am pretty sure it was new
It was two days after it came and the box was close

that's the problem, i bought it from the official importer

There are so many things you haven't said so I'm kind of confused.
Official importer? Did you buy thru your carrier, Samsung or eBay?

I don't have a Note 3 but those who do will need more information to try to help you out.

I will try to research this for you.

1. What country are you in?

2. What is the name of the company (importer) that you purchased the phone from?

i am not sure it will help because this importer is only in my country

1. Israel

2. "Suny" and they call their lab "Scailex Corporation"

Thank you all for your help

by the way, someone told me today about a similar thing and called it sudden death, can it be connected to it?

The device is still in their hands

I planing on going to them directly and demand from them to show me why they think the device is rooted
additionally i will show them how their service is bad(i have recorded calls)

After that i will think what to do next

But i will happy to know if the knox system can confuse the failed update as a root attempt or if the sudden death is connected to that

And again thank you very much for your help

That's exactly what I would advise.

Just curious: Is there a timestamp or other indication one can find to determine when a rooting took place? Obviously if it happened before delivery of the phone to the OP, that'd earn a new phone. Or if it happened at the same time a system update was partially completed, that'd also place responsibility on the carrier.

i will check it

i tried to check if they can see when an update took place and if they can see when the device was turned on but they said one time yes in other time no, but maybe my cellular company can see when the update downloaded and when the device was turned on, but it doesn't prove it isn't rooted

so i will check your idea

Thank you very much

edit : i saw the post later and respond to it

I read too that if i removing the memory card it fixes the problem, I wish it could help me, I tried to remove the battery too with no success

*******************
Edit 2 : I talked to my friend and went over with me on the update process
That reminded me that there was a stop in the download and asked me to continue downloading
Do you think it related to the problem
I mean to the problem that the device thinks he is rooted
But it explains the bootloops maybe
