I've had many phones over the years and have never had any connection issues on my home wifi network. The Note 3 continues to drop saying poor internet connection.

I thought last weeks update was supposed to help correct this? Apparently not as it continues to drop wifi.

I am a computer engineer and have built tested 100's of networks over the years so I know the issue is not in my house.

Anyone else still having this wifi dropping issue?

Does it work if you give it a static IP/gateway/dns? Just to eliminate stuff. Even the best can be fooled.

My DHCP server runs on a device separate from my WAP, so when the server died, I could still connect, but it would throw that error.

Since the Note 3 uses 802.11AC I decided to get a new wireless router. WOW is AC fast!

I do have the Note set with static addresses and yet it still drops connection on occasion even with a -42dbm signal as seen by the phone.

I've read that Samsung radios are not the best. I wonder if this is hardware related or software. I'm still hoping for something to improve this situation.

Bit the bullet and did a factory reset. Within 30 minutes I lost connection to my new Netgear 802.11AC router which is seen as a -50dbm signal at my phone, clearly the strongest signal in the area.

So current OS, static address, factory reset all did not fix the disconnect problem.

The nice thing about a 802.11AC router is a 63Mbps download speed! Great but not when I can't stay connected.

one thing I have noticed is sometimes I won't connect to my jobs wifi as I would always be connected when I had my S3... i'll go into the wifi menu and it says wifi connection too slow..but that makes no sense because I would be connected if I was in my s3..

I've started having this same issue. In the past, the network would get a big "buggy" and all of my devices would drop the network. (Note 2 and N7) Lately, my Note 3 has been dropping the network but when I check my N7, it's still chugging away just fine.

I have an issue that's troubling to diagnose. The only part of town that does not get 3g/4g is at my friends house who has Wifi. My phone will constantly drop and them pick up his network - despite sitting right next to the router. When it drops, Samsung asks me to sign into my Sammy account again. Then I'll get the message that I'm connected again. It does this every 10 seconds or so. I have to use airplane mode to stop it from bugging out and burning up battery.

Doesn't happen anywhere else.

Anyway, sorry to hijack but maybe our problems are related.

I called Verizon yesterday and they went through some trouble shooting BS and then finally said take it back and have it replaced. I'm wondering if it is going to make a difference. Already have spent some time getting this new one setup to my liking. Ugh.

Yeah it stinks but hopefully getting a new device will solve your issues. If not feel free to come back and we can put our heads together :)

I got mine on 23rd November and just about the first things I noticed were WiFi dropping every few second and a large number of software updates (to the OS, not apps). That whole experience was also worse because the dropping WiFi slowed down the downloading of the updates and caused many connection lost dialogue boxes.

As far as I can tell only the very last of these updates had any effect on the WiFi which now seems mostly reliable. It does drop very occasionally, particularly if I use the microwave oven, but as microwaves use the 2.4Ghz band that's handly surprising. I am hoping to receive a dual band router soon so it will be interesting to see how well that works.
