Root [Virgin Mobile] All-In-One Custom ROM User Guide

I use MopedRyder's APN fix #1 and it works just fine with Carbon, which has been my exclusive ROM since mid-October. Possibly a different Carbon nightly might work better. I can upload my current version to my Dropbox and post a link if you want, since I know it works fine on my phone. Also, which recovery are you using? If you have TWRP, maybe do a full wipe (cache, dalvik-cache, system, and data) then install, in the same session and in this order: ROM, GApps, APN fix #1, then reboot. Make sure you have a working backup as usual. I use a custom kernel as well, may not hurt to try one.

Are you using the latest nightly or what? On the latest 11/17 I always get .com.android has stopped or whatever the message says. I also get a lot of system ui has stopped messages

Using 11/8 since it was released and it has been flawless. If you go to Carbon's main website they admit they have been having build problems the last week and a half, so 11/17 is the last build before they started having problems. Whenever I have to reboot, like after flashing a mod in recovery, I always get "process com.android.phone has stopped" but only right after the boot has finished, and it doesn't affect anything. I think it is just that not all processes are ready at the same time immediately after boot. Try a slightly earlier build and I think you will be OK.

PS: Would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving brah. How do you have 11/18? I keep checking their mirror and their website and nothing new shows up. For example I go onto their actual website and the latest nightly listed for d2spr is 10/27. then I check the mirror they have and the latest is 11/17 which I am currently using.

Happy Thanksgiving buddy! Look again, it's eight not eighteen apparently the "slash" must not be angled enough and looks like a "one!" Anyway, November eighth build is running perfectly for me, probably going to flash November eleventh today just for something to flash in order to fuel my addiction.

Hello guys i was wondering if is possible to flash the MOAR Rom here

[ROM] [MOAR] [MD4] v6.1 / Modz For All / On the Fly Theming / Swagger ;) [11.02.13] - xda-developers

i open the updater script but it doesn't say anything about the bootloaders or anything about L710VPxxxx. Im guessing maybe the bootloader info is located somewhere else. I know i read that someone on here said they're runnig the MOAR rom on their VM GS3. If anyone could help that would be great, thanks.

Downloading that file now so I can look at it, that is a HUGE file, so here is my usual two cents while it downloads. Never checked that ROM out before because it is 4.1.x; as far as I am concerned 4.3.x and up is where it's at. At the very least, I wouldn't want to do without lockscreen widgets like Dashclock, and that feature is only available for 4.2 and up. Additionally, while I know a lot of people like stock or stock-ish type ROM's, I completely prefer to get away from stock in as many aspects as possible without sacrificing performance. Anyway, once it has downloaded I will open it up and see if anything jumps out at me and then I will get back to you.

Update: OK, so opened up the zip and I don't see any assert lines at all, which is fine, there is no guarantee that they will always be part of a ROM, it is just a tool devs can use to prevent someone from flashing an incompatible ROM. Illusion doesn't use them, and neither does BlackBean 8, and those flash just fine on my phone. As always, main concern is that you choose a d2spr ROM and not a version for another carrier or for the international variants. There is definitely a ton of stuff going on with the initial flash of this ROM, probably has to do with the use of AROMA installer as part of the process and all the customizing that can be done prior to booting. Short of actually flashing this, I can't give more of an opinion than that, best guess is it's safe, but make a backup (always make a backup regardless) and good luck if you go ahead with this one!

Thank you, im now running MOAR 6.1 (Thanks Team NOOBZ) with working 3g but not 4g, I'll keep looking around and seeing if i can find a 4g fix.

Can someone please help? I tried installing carbon, but I couldn't get a 3G/Lte signal. I even went so far as to restore my nandroid backup of the stock rom and download APN backup and restore and save my APN settings to my sd card and went back to carbon to restore these settings. After nearly a day of this, by phone still wouldn't get a data signal so I just flashed CyanogenMod 10.2 RC build 1 and redid these steps. Still nothing. Can someone please help me?? Maybe a link to mopedryder's fix can help.

Scroll up about two posts in this thread for link. Another option is to push, via Odin, MG2 Kies file posted by lordmage.

Don't worry my friend, I don't have access to a secret build of Carbon! I was assuming that you looked at "11/8" and misread it as "11/18" was the reason why I spelled out the dates in my reply. I am hoping that they get back on track with some nightlies soon, hopefully a stable 4.3.1 as well, and then on to 4.4 sooner rather than later.

Onc again, thanks for the great work. I'm sure this will help many people!

Up next, I think we need a thread outlining everything there is to know about Knox. The dos and donts etc.. as Cnexus had done at XDA. There is already a thread called "all things knox" but that is just a collection of posts I moved from other threads to tidy things up as they were cluttering as off-topic knox discussions.

What's kernals have been tested to work on 4.3 VM? I'm looking to try and save my battery a bunch and I've read that a better kernal is the best way to do that. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=804054

It's a fairly new thread so I'm sure there are plenty other kernels working but there's only been one kernel reported to work so far. If you try out others you are welcome to participate in the thread and report your findings :)

I was reading through your OP bro and I have just flashed and done a thorough testing of the Slim Bean ROM 4.3 on my Boost S3. It's nice and smooth as butter. I'm sure you guys will have no issues with it. I flashed the ROM and GAPPS then flashed the Boost xml. That was all it took for me to be up and running. I also tested the newest 747 AOSP kernel with it with no issues. I couldn't test 4G because I don't have it in my area but another Boost user states it works fine. You guys have your own fix for that so I don't foresee any issues with it.

Nice thread bro. Keep up the good work. The more help we have with our phones the better! I look forward to collaborating with you in the future.

PEACE,
Biker

Thanks buddy! Feel free to link my tutorial or anything posted by Britton over on your stickied thread, I am excited in general about the way Boost and VM are coming together to provide an awesome knowledge base!
