It is not getting great reviews. It hasn't arrived yet. I hope it doesn't suck.

UPDATE: I've had this case for a week or so now. It protects the phone fine. I thought the clear back was getting scratched bad...until I read that it has a protective film. I removed it and it looks fine now. I don't like how the buttons feel though. I will replace this case if I find one that has buttons that respond better.

New UPDATE:

I ordered the Google Nexus 5 case. It was expensive but I bite on the hook. It's better than the Spigen above. It is a bit thinner, stylish and the side buttons are better. Having said that, it's not $30 better. I really liked the Nexus 4 bumper case. The buttons on that were great.

I pretty much agree. At first I didn't like how it flattened out the back and the smoothness, but it is growing on me (at that price, I have to like it ). It does protect nicely while not seriously changing the footprint (I got the black case and have the black Nexus 5, so you have t look closely to see the difference). I do wish they had done a true bumper like the one for the Nexus 4, but I'm ultimately glad I got this case.

SEIDIO | LG Google Nexus 5
Seidio 'dilex' black dual layer case, now shipping. Formerly known as the active case I believe....
Tony
http://www.seidioonline.com/LG-Google-Nexus-5-s/9164.htm

I ordered last night. I'm disappointed that the Convert case is stuck "in development", as I prefer to have the ports covered, though I think the Active/Dilex cases (in general) provide otherwise equal protection. I don't see the advantage of the inner hard layer if you're going to leave all layers on all the time - I don't "convert" the Convert case on my Galaxy Nexus.

SO..The convert and dilex look like the same concept...?
Is the convert much more heavy duty..........?
Seidio apparently doesnt like to RESPOND to emails. They just seem to prefer to send auto-generated press releases...

?

Seidio seems to have three lines of cases: Surface, Active/Dilex, and Convert. The Surface is a hard case. The Active/Dilex is a silicone layer held in place by a hard exoskeleton, leaving all ports uncovered. The Convert is a combination of the Surface, and an Active/Dilex sized to fit over the Surface case instead of the naked phone, and all ports (including the camera) are protected by silicone flaps. The idea behind the Convert is that you can remove the additional protective layers and use just the Surface case when less protection is warranted or less bulk is desired. Based on my experience with the Active case, I don't see the Convert providing any additional drop protection, but having the ports and camera protected can provide peace of mind in certain environments.

I ordered the Spigen Slim Ultrafit for both my and my wife's Nexus 5s, thinking I'd just use them as stopgap cases until something better came out. They're cheap. But I am pretty impressed with them - extremely light and add almost no bulk at all to the phone. I wanted some protection but do not want to compromise the slim form factor of the phone, it is part of what makes it so attractive. This case doesn't compromise it at all.

I got the black version for mine and the white version for wifey. They are identical but for the color. I think they are a different cut than the clear ones, as these do in fact have corner protection. The fit is VERY snug, but I haven't found it to damage the phone. You do have to press the camera lens to remove it, but I don't plan on removing it so this isn't an issue to me. There were reports that the cutouts for ports and buttons were sharp but I didn't fine this to be the case on mine. All cutouts are perfect as far as I can tell.

I was planning on just using these as interim cases but unless something comes along that offers better protection without compromising the form factor of the phone I am happy to keep them.

Might check out the Nokia wireless charge plate from ATT store, it's like 1/2 price! ($24.95)
Nokia Black Wireless Charging Plate

Both cases are 'adequate'. The Spigen case has button covers that are really squishy and not very easy to use. The Caseology case looks nice, but the bit above the buttons (edge part between button and screen) makes them a bit tough to press down, especially the power button. Both fit snugly... good for cheapo cases I guess.

The Invisible Defender screen protectors are meh too... they are really smudgy, and show fingerprints immediately.

Haven't tried out the car mount yet, stay tuned!

I did get the Nokia charge plate from the ATT store... nice little device, eazy to use. Just plug it in, drop the phone on top, and voila! Make sure you don't let the greeters or service kids convince you they won't work with the N5, because they do! They were still $24.95 as of last saturday (Dec 7th).

I currently have the Ballistic SG Maxx case and holster.

The screen protector included with the Ballistic case is NOT rigid - it's pretty flexible, but much more sturdy than a standard screen protector. It also doesn't sit flat on the screen, so each time you tap you're pushing the screen protector onto the screen. Since the silicone layer overlaps the edge of the screen protector, it may be possible that I could have made some adjustment, but I removed it for the remainder of my evaluation. The silicone later fits well on the phone, and has flaps that cover the headphone jack and USB port, and the relatively bulky corners seem like they could protect the phone from quite a drop. The plastic layer (they call it two layers, but it's one piece) is a very tight fit over the silicone layer, making it difficult to install or remove, but for long term use I think this is a good thing. Unfortunately, the plastic is not nearly "grippy" enough for me - I constantly feel like the phone is going to slip out of my hand. End result - it's going back.

I also have the Seidio Dilex case and holster, but it just arrived today, so I can't really say much about it yet.

Just wondering, when you put your n5 on the charger is there any indication or notification like a little flash screen or sound on the phone when charging when the battery is still above 90% ? Someone was asking about this elsewhere. Thanks! :)

I have the Nokia 900 charger. The phone gives off a little sound when you put it on the charger, along with the battery lightning bolt in notification bar. It also can start up a 'daydream' (look in settings > display > daydream). I have mine set to an analog clock... it drifts around the screen while it's charging. It goes black in about 10 seconds if you removed the phone from the charger pad.

I ordered spigens smooth white case from amazon. It's definitely the best $10 I've ever spent. It fits perfectly and makes the phone look even sexier. Shipping was fast too. Here's the link :
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EV8Y50S

Could you post a picture of the phone in the case? Does it make the sides of the phone thicker? Does it square off the curve of the back? (I wouldn't want the phone's contours changed.)

[NEXUS 5 TEXTURE] [Non-Slip] Spigen Google Nexus 5 Case Slim [Ultra Fit] [Black] FREE Screen Protector *Japanese PET Film* Included + Premium Non Slip Surface with Excellent Grip Matte Hard Case - ECO-Friendly Packaging - Case for Nexus 5 - Smooth Bl

That looks nice. How accessible are the volume buttons? That's the problem with the Caseology that I have... the buttons are exposed, but the ridge of the case between them and the screen gets in the way of using the buttons easily. I put this case on my 'wishlist' for the next time I order on Amazon, so I can get free shipping :)

I also ordered Armorbox Dual Layer Hybrid Protective Case for Google Nexus 5 by LG | i-Blason Armorbox Dual Layer Hybrid Protective Case for a 'rugged' case, it had good reviews. You can order on Amazon or directly from Manufacturere (i-Blason), the cost is the same. ($19.97 includes shipping in US). I got the blue one :)

how does everyone like the Spigen screen protectors?? I see they don't have any cut outs for the front camera which kind of worries me. Right now my nexus 5 has Invisible defender which fits perfect, I love the feel can't really tell its on but leaves prints like crazy.

and my replacement nexus is coming soon (my current one has glue in speakers) looking to see if there are other protectors out there that might not leave as many finger marks but still just as clear and smooth feeling.

The spigen's dont really leave fingerprints that i have noticed. and the front camera is not impeded in any way for not having a cut out. all in all, i'm happy with mine.

Just ordered the ultra crystal one. Couldn't bring my self to pay $35 for a tempered glass one, especially considering it only comes with with and I might fuk up putting it on,

So I got one of the Meenova microSD card readers, and I am finding it works pretty well. I have a 16GB Nexus 5 so don't really have alot of room for media, and I have a very large offline collection of video and music files, and needed some way to use them with the phone without using up my app space. The Meenova fit the bill.

The unit comes with a USB interface that essentially turns your microSD into a USB flash drive. It also comes with a keychain latch so that you can keep the unit on your keychain, and simply pop it in when you need it. It is quite small and doesn't protrude to the point that the phone is difficult to handle. Much better than an OTG with a cable.

I am using Nexus Media Importer since I am not rooted, and am using a 32GB card in it. The website says that if you are rooted you can use StickMount and access SDXC 64GB cards. My 64GB card wouldn't work with Nexus Media Importer as is, as it only supports FAT32 and not exFAT. That's a software issue, though, not a hardware issue.

This little unit solves a big problem for me and gives me at least a reasonably sized media library on the go that I can't have due to the phone's limitations. I can now carry a dozen or so HD movies along with a pretty decent music library and not eat into the phone's storage at all. For the price you can't lose; it is possibly the best $12 I ever spent.

Meenova.com, Welcome

Just received my Google nexus 5 bumper from the play store in Black...regretful!

First - The price, what on earth is going through Google's mind charging that much for a TPU case? Lol, the phone starts at $349, how are you charging $35 for a case. Its just way to expensive IMO for what you get.

Second- The feel, If you going to take the plunge just to get that nexus writing on the back, STAY AWAY FROM THE BLACK. This is the biggest fingerprints magnet case that I've ever used...very hard to keep clean and as a whole is just not finger friendly.

Third- The look, if you want something slim this isn't the case, overall it makes me feel like I'm using my nexus 4 all over again. The case changes the way the case feels in the hand...if you want an all black TPU case shoot for the matte black Diztronic case.

Wrap Up: For $35 bucks I will say the case does feel well made, but pretty bulky! However in the end that's just too expensive for a TPU case. If I was going to take the spurge I'd roll with one of the other colors available like Red, Yellow, or my personal favorite color, Gray! Reason I went for the Black is because I figured the Gray was so light in color that it would turn blue from my jeans, so I went for the black one. I'll be returning the case just for the simple fact that its $35, plus tax and shipping totaling around $45-$50..nuts IMO for a case.

What I'd really like is a case like tech armor makes that's a TPU matte smoke color and doesn't add any bulk to the device...sadly they only make that case for the iPhone 5.

So I'm trying to decide on a case for the Nexus 5, and based on what I've read on here and other places, a matte black TPU case offers the best level of drop protection while retaining as much of the original look and feel of the phone. After doing some research, I've narrowed down my choices to the following four cases:

Diztronic Matte Black: Amazon.com: Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for LG Nexus 5 - Retail Packaging: Cell Phones & Accessories

I've come to the conclusion this is the best in term of aesthetics and feel, but I haven't seen a single review attesting to its ability to protect the phone. I'll definitely get this one if the protection is acceptable, as I love the feel of the Nexus 5.

CruzerLite BugDroid: http://www.amazon.com/Cruzerlite-Bugdroid-Circuit-Case-Nexus/dp/B00FH50DXM

CruzerLite Androidified: Amazon.com: Cruzerlite Androidified A2 Case for LG Nexus 5 - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

I've seen these drop test video for these (I think the latter specifically), so it seems pretty obvious that they provide adequate protection for drops onto hard surfaces. However, the elaborate Android designs on the back are less appealing than the minimal graphics and pure matte black of the Diztronic, and I've read that the lips intrude slightly onto screen real estate.

Boxwave Blackout: Amazon.com: BoxWave Blackout Google Nexus 5 Case - Durable, Slim-Fit Black TPU Case with Stylish Dual Glossy and Matte Finish - Google Nexus 5 Cases and Covers: Cell Phones & Accessories

I saw this recommended on a couple lists, but I haven't found many reviews of it otherwise, so I'm not sure how it compares with the aforementioned models.

Is anyone who has any of these cases able to provide more information about them, or can someone point me to a good resource for comparing them more thoroughly?
