$50 Google Play credit from Samsung for Note 3 users...

Try reading the entire thread. It was ended early due to scammers redeeming hundreds of codes, selling them on eBay, and then bragging about it online.

WOW, s with many iphones and time/money invested in iTunes gets screwed because Samsung can't keeps its promo secure?
Thanks pretty crappy that they would be so stupid as to NOT ask for a receipt proving the purchased qualifying device.

(Being a new droid peep, I could really use the credit!)

Who's fault does this lay with? The consumer or Samsung? Samsung is responsible for the security in regards to its promotions. This isn't something new. If it IS for them, they should fire the promotions director I'd say. This is not a good PR moment for them. Every company that has promotions knows to provide a level of security for those promotions. If Samsung did not, that reflects pretty badly on them....

Seems like crapola to me!
If the goal of this promo was to get folks to switch from apple, (or others) to Samsung, then the offer should be open ended.

Can you imagine Promo Joe's boss walks into his office and says "congrats Joe, you got 30k folks to switch to Samsung. Wow that promo worked greatd, lets shut it down now, we don't want 60k folks to switch over, 30k is enough"

I call bullshit !!!
I just switched from 4s to N3, last week and I want the $50 google play credit !!!
Does anyone have a number to Samsung, I will call them and post my results right here.

Try their support section & call this number: 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864)

The one area where SAMSUNG could show some leadership in the tech industry is put a stop to the U.S./country exclusives & go global w/the promotions.
Yeah I agree with this, with the Note 2 I think in the US Samsung were offering free flip covers and nothing in the UK, not sure about other countries, but with the Note 3 the US has $50 worth of google play credit while the UK had a free Official flip wallet cover, although this was a Dec 1st - 31st offer only.

It would be nice if they gave everyone the same offers throughout the world because at the end of the day we would have all, regardless of country, paid top prices for the phone or contract, to get any early offers/rewards in the first place.

They could automate things like that like they did with Drop box. I am sure their system could simply push $50 to users who are logged into their Samsung and Google account. Rather than generating codes.

I don't know about everybody else, but the $50 freebie didn't really make much difference in my decision to get the N3. A lot of us had already purchased the phone by the time the offer came and went (quickly). As you already needed to be a registered user to get the $50, it seemed to me to be more of a reward for the early buyers, rather than an inducement to folks who held back for whatever reason. Yeah, I got some stuff at the Play Store that I might have waited a little longer to buy, but I'd talked myself into the phone long before all this happened.
