Email app - Googlemail

Hi there,

So I've had my HTC Desire for about 10 days or so now - love it.

From day one, I set up my googlemail in the Email app (I prefer the look of the Email app to that of the Gmail app).

It worked faultlessly until yesterday, I haven't have any new emails on the HTC Desire since 9am yesterday, even though when I check on-line I see plenty of new ones in my inbox.

Why has this stopped working? I haven't changed anything.



Anyone else had problems?

Ditto, then occasionally I get a load come through. Can't find any setting that shows any download frequency as I presume it's supposed to be push.

Never used to have a problem when I had a Hero.

So this was caused by a corrupt header.

I fixed this by logging into gmail on my PC, deleting the first email that didn't download onto my Desire.

Fixed - email is all up to date, and continues to work as required.

Logged in online and they downloaded but just sent a test email and it hasn't showed up on the Desire. Odd

Edit: It has got there in the end with others but there is no regularity to the updates, could it be linked to the signal strength ? so the link to the server ?

Do you have gmail sync enabled under settings?

Also under the same menu will show when the last sync was. Do contacts, calendar and gmail all show errors?

If so, disable auto date and time, and try sync'ing again

do u use mail HTC widget? how did u configure that? I am trying to use it for gmail but somehow it doesnt work, says authentication failed? However, gmail widget works fine? any idea.

Have you guys managed to change your username on your email app? (non the googlemail).

If I send someone an email it just comes from an email address not my actual name.

Do you know how to change this?
