Root [Virgin Mobile] [ROM][MK5][STOCK][ODEXED/DEODEXED]- Virgin Mobile/Boost Mobile

Wanted to give this ROM a quick whirl to update PRL and profile, deodexed version failed to flash. Downloaded a second time and when I opened with WinRAR, it said "archive corrupted." About to give the Odexed version a try, don't know if anyone else has had a problem with the deodexed version since it is brand new but thought I would throw this out there. JD is the man though, one of the few people out there who cares about the VM variant of the SGS3 in terms of development and modding!

Yeah man, I took the link down. May have gotten corrupted while uploading. It was midnight after all :) I re-uploaded and am going to try and flash it myself first. I'll let everyone know when it's up and running again. Thank you for the kind words. Odex works fine :)

Yeah I flashed first attempt right after you posted it, around two in the morning so figured I should try again this morning, which is when I opened it up on my computer and got the corrupted message. Odexed flashed fine, was good to get PRL and profile updated and then make a stock backup, something I always like to have for a rainy day. By the way, I assume from your XDA avatar and signature that you are a Marine, thank you for your service and next time I'm in Nashville breakfast at Pancake Pantry is on me!

Tether not working on MK5 yet, but I have some of the best minds working on it lol

Yay!!

By the way usb tethering works okay. Using clockworkmod tether. When I need wireless tether to work, I'll share the connection from pc over Ethernet to a router. Native wireless tether is a different story.

Can this be flashed although I'm already on 4.3 update. I know it sounds dumb but the deoexed version I tried over in xda MMS didn't work. It only worked once but then that was it for mms.

This is a link to the same rom over at XDA. If the deodexed version didn't work, then you can flash the odexed version. Just be sure to perform factory reset in recovery.. format system, data, and cache.. and wipe dalvik cache.

If the odexed doesn't allow MMS to work either, let us know. You may have to use Kies to install the MK5 update.

Ok I'm gonna test now. I will let you know! In a couple of hours when my ROM actually gets settled in.

I can say that mms for the odexed rooted stock Rom works just fine at this moment. Sadly it seemed like mms could only send but I couldn't receive and wouldn't download.

I am running the deodex MK5, and mms works fine. If anyone is having issues with mms, 4g, etc, I would suggest running ##72786# and then updating prl and profile. I've been running this since the minute I built it and flashed it to test, and have had zero issues. Issues may be a result of app conflicts as well. Thanks for the updates gentlemen(and ladies, if there are any), but I haven't seen any of the issues that are being discussed. Screen shots attached...

So it seems like after a few hours or something, it stopped working for me. I realise that it might be Google hangouts that breaks my MMS . right now I'm not sure. I did your method but it didn't work. So I believe that it may be because of hangouts. But before i was rooted, i with the ota that was sent to punkmaxx worked qith no problems at all.

ok i hope im not asking a questions thats already been answered because i dont have time to read through the whole comments section.

now i have a older s3 on 4.1.2. now i want the 4.3 update without the knox bootloader and knox apps. i believe that is StaticMaal's version. but that versin is the MK3 version for sprint and not vm. do i have to apply one of MopedRyder's apn fixes so it works properly?
and the one above his MK3 is the correct MK5 for VM but has the knox bootloader at least on it. maybe alson the app itself. what is the procedure on removing thte apps and is it possible to flash the the bootloader without knox after already putting that on my phone?
any helpful links would be much appreciated as i keep bouncing from thread to thread trying to find out how to get 4.3 and still have the ability to reverse everything like im used to before this "knox" crap Samsung started.
