Incredible sold out in some markets

My order status has been sitting at this for a few days:

Here is the status of your order.
Order Date: 04/22/2010

Order Number: 32749XXXX

Order Status: Your order is currently being processed, please check back tomorrow.

So I got nervous and decided to call Verizon and check what the hold up is. I was transfered to Internet Sales and a lady told me that Verizon can not fullfil all of the pre-sale orders. She told me flat out, the phone would not be in my hand on the 29th. I asked if this was nation wide, and she said no it was only in my "market" and some other markets too. She said it will take a few days before they can reroute more phones to this area. I asked how many days, and she said 2-3 buisness days after launch.

I live in Midland, MI, so I don't know if my market is; Midwest, Michigan, Mid-Michigan or what.

I asked if I would be able to cancel my order and pick it up in store on Thursday, and she said she didn't know if they would have any availble, but that if I did, I would have amail-in-rebate instead of the instant rebate.

I can't believe that I order mine on the 22nd and that they sold out of my whole market before then.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard this from Verizon.

My status is still the same as yours and I placed my order at 10:30 pm CST on April 18th. I called customer service yesterday to find out what was going on and I was told they were out of stock because they got the Incredibles sooner than expected and started filling pre-orders and ran out. She went on to say they were expecting another batch of them in soon. I called the internet orders sales team yesterday evening to see what they had to say and the woman I spoke with said that my phone is shipping from the midwest regional facility (I live near St. Louis) and the phones there are in a hold status until the 28th. So, I don't know what the real story is. Are they really in a hold status, or do they just not have any yet? Who knows...

Not trying to rub it in, but i ordered mine on the 24th @ 9:30am and i just got notification that is shipped. I tracked the order via the fedex tracking # and its left the verizon warehouse and is in fedex's possession this very moment.

Verizon seems to have screwed the Incredible thing up pretty badly and it hasn't even dropped yet.

Typical for a big phone company. It was worse with the iPhone 3G and AT&T. The difference between ordering from AT&T and Apple couldn't have been more stark. AT&T purposely had just a few phones shipped to each store. They would lie to people in line and not tell them they had run out. They wanted to get people in the store committed so they could put in an order.

Online orders were fullfilled in random order. Many of the first people ordering received their phones days after some of the last people preordered.

Meanwhile, Apple had plenty of stock. They had a line, but gave out tickets reserving a phone for you and would tell you when they ran out. They gave out water and ice cream to those waiting in line. Made you feel like a valued customer.

The Internet Sales Center (800-711-7773), I just got off the phone with them about an hour ago. She had said that they had just received a new batch of phones and are pushing them out as fast as possible. She did however move me to the front of the queue, then offered me delivery tomorrow for $9..

I'd just keep blowing them up if I were you, and by that I mean phone calls repeatedly.. big brother is always watching and they're sensitive about bomb related phrases.. or I just need to lay off the green cause its giving me the 'noid.

It seems that's exactly what you are trying to do.

LOL, not really. I just wanted to pass along the info so he could call up customer service and have something to tell them. It pays to have extra info handy just in case you need it. But whatever, take my post however you want, makes no difference to me. Its just the internet afterall ;)

There are a TON of Best Buys getting these phones with only 2-3 people on the wait list.

There is plenty of opportunity to get this phone on the 29th but you would have to cancel your ONLINE PRE-ORDER and go to BB.

You would lose out on the free activation.

My problem is that I was told the phones are not allowed to leave the midwest regional facility until the 28th, so asking for overnight shipping wouldn't do me any good. I've heard this same statement from two different reps now. What I don't understand is, why are they offering to ship the phones to you guys tomorrow for a fee of $8.99 when I paid that for overnight shipping when I placed my order, and it's not even shipping out until the 28th?

I called again and a lady said roughly that they are waiting for more phones. She told me as soon as Motorola can send them to Verizon, they will send them out. I corrected the lady, telling her that HTC makes that phone and she said thats what she ment.

I asked if there was any way to move my order along and she said not possible.

Something sounds fishy. I live on the west side of Michigan and I ordered mine last night and received my FedEx shipping info this morning. It appears to be coming from Tennessee.

Not letting them leave the midwest regional facility? I have placed my order already and received tracking number and its at fedex. to be delivered tomorrow... and I am from the midwest

i think the reps just dont know what to say since it is possibly sold out now? or more popular then thought?

Shocking. I placed my order at 2PM on the 24th from Lansing, MI -- and it was processed yesterday afternoon, and shipped this morning from Tennessee.

You would think we would be in the same market eh?
