Just opened the box, and I can confirm that there is a SanDisk 2gb card included. I'm charging it up before I activate, but here are some initial observations:

Thinner and lighter than I expected. Charging port is on the side, which I don't like as much as the Eris', which is on the bottom.

Charging connector is totally different than on the Eris, which means buying a new car charger, as well as an extra house charger.

OLED screen is vibrant and bright.

Sense UI does allow unlocking by hitting the menu button, in lieu of swiping.

I'll post more after I activate.

Fedex just delivered two to my house (one for me, one for Mrs). They also simultaneously delivered a red plastic cover (front & back) and the body glove cover from Verizonwireless. I have them both plugged in and charging now.

My first impressions were 1) the screen looks skinnier than my iPhone's. But maybe that's because my iPhone is in an OtterBox?

2) The charging port/connector is more difficult to use and plug into than my iPhone. It's hard to tell which way is "up" when plugging the micro-plug in. I also received two 2gb microSD cards. I think I'm going to ebay them and get at least 8gb.

Can't wait to power up in four hours!!!

Don't be too upset. MicroUSB is the new standard - it allows for thinner/more compact devices.

No. Note, it's MiniUSB - you want Micro.

Rounding out the device is 3.5mm headphone jack on top, a volume rocker on the left side, and a Mini-USB port/power connector on the bottom. As usual, the camera is located on the back, and the microSD expansion slot sits behind the battery door on the right side.

I usually paint a white dot on the top of the connector, with nail polish. Makes it easier for me to know which way is "up"

Disclaimer: I've never handled an Eris - I based my opinion off a cursory Google search, with a trusted source saying Mini. If it's Micro, my bad.
