Hi there, I recently tried to root my Galaxy S2 I9100. After installing ClockWorkMod Recovery through Odin I attempted to use it to install the Paranoid android ROM. I just kept getting an error message. I'd like to know either how to remove the ClockWork Recovery or how to fix it so I can install a ROM.
Thanks for any help in advance

That depends on the error message, but it was probably that there was something wrong with the ROM or that the ROM isn't for your device.

In any event, there's no reason to remove CWM. You don't lose anything by having it installed, you gain a few functions. All the original functions are still there.

(And none of this has anything to do with rooting, unless the ROM you were trying to install is rooted. You can root without changing the recovery and without flashing a ROM. Each one is a separate function.)

Hello and welcome to Android Forums eddywoody! :)

You do not mention which method you used to root your phone. Normally, the CWM recovery is included in the rooting process on the International, GT-i9100.

I suggest that you re-root your phone by carefully reading and following the instructions in the Rooting Galaxy S2 - Dummies Guide. This will not only root you but will give you a compatible CWM recovery to enable you to flash the custom ROM, Paranoid Android.

Thanks for the advice. But how can I re-root if I'm unable to enter download mode?

You forgot to mention that in your previous post! The answer is, you can't. You also cannot flash a stock firmware to recover, either.

Can you post a link to the method you used to root your phone and to the ClockworkMod flashing instructions you used.

You forgot to mention that in your previous post! The answer is, you can't. Have you tried pulling the battery out and then replacing it and then trying to boot into Download mode?

Can you post a link to the method you used to root your phone and to the ClockworkMod flashing instructions you used.
